Where Did the Week Go?

It's Friday again. I can't believe the week rolled around that quickly!

The rest of the week was fairly quiet. Son was glad to be home with the internet and I'm sure the cat was too! He's a sweet little cat but quite shy. He tends to hide when anyone else comes over. When my other son goes to watch him (if middle son goes away) he barely comes out from the covers on the bed or son's coat. He is really attached.

The week has passed in sort of a blur. It's turned hot again - yuck. I wanted to start, if not sorting, at least organising the craft room so there was room to work in there. It's just been too hot. I go up there, do a little bit and then come back down again. I feel like a bit of a yo-yo! Things have got put away though and I'm almost to the point where there is a nice space on the desk so I can create things. I am hoping that, when I get back, it will be a bit cooler, and I can go upstairs and do some crafting.

Next Friday I'll be off to England until September. I am so excited. It's going to be lovely to see sister again. We have lots of walks planned - if the weather cooperates - and lots of relaxing. I chatted with sister C today. She had some bad news regarding our other sister, D's husband. He had a scan, and they have found two growths (very small) on his liver, but it means more chemotherapy. Sigh. It just never seems to end for them. They did manage to have a small holiday (first in years) before they got the news.

Photo for the day - Sunrise.

Plans for the weekend - not sure. We're probably going to try to beat the heat and humidity and get out for a walk. Do you have plans for the weekend?

  1. Lovely sunrise picture. Your son's cat sounds a bit like Dancer, who also usually runs and hides if someone comes to the house.
The days do seem to go fast, don't they?
I'm sorry to hear about your brother-in-law's continued medical issues; I'm glad they were able to have a bit of a holiday before the scan results came.
I hope you have a lovely weekend. I've no plans, but, I'm hoping that we can unpack at least one or two of daughter's boxes!

  2. When you go for an early walk, you definitely mean early! The colours in the photograph are beautiful.

    1. Beat the heat, especially at this time of year! Our sunrise is quite a bit later than yours though

  3. It's starting to heat up here in France again - 39° forecast over the next couple of days. I have a small portable fan on my desk which keeps me cool when I'm crafting or painting - for which I'm very grateful!

    1. Yes, that's what it's been here the last couple of days and hotter still with the humidity. I have a fan at my crafting desk but I can only last for a little while upstairs. It's too hot for me! I can't wait until it cools down. Stay cool!

  4. That's so sad for your sister and brother-in-law. Some people seem to have all the bad luck.
So exciting for you to be coming to UK. We're forecast some warmer weather again, but I'm sure it won't be anywhere near what you're used to.
    Beautiful sunrise! 🌅

    1. They just can't seem to get a break. I'm hoping it all works out okay. He's such a lovely man, would do anything for anyone and always seems more worried about other people than himself.
I'm hoping the weather will be nice, but not too hot! We want to go for lots of walks.

  5. Enjoy your vacation. We were back last November for a funeral and managed a couple of days away up in Fort William (there will be a post next week about it). So sorry about your brother-in-law. Cancer sucks!!! Have a Costa coffee for me and a Gregg's sausage roll!! Oh and have a mooch around M & S and take lots of photos!!! Who are you flying with?

    1. Thank you! I always take far too many photos lol.
I'm flying with American Airlines. It's not my favourite airline but the price was so much better than Delta who I would prefer to fly with.

I'm really excited about going. It's the travelling I don't much care for
