...Christmas shopping yet?
Ugh. I hate thinking about it, but I must admit that I have actually got a couple of items already. I'm usually such a procrastinator. Well, usually I have good intentions, get off to a good start and then stall. This year I'm determined I will be more prepared. My sister did quite a bit of Christmas shopping when we did go to the shops while I was there. She found some really good toy bargains. She is well prepared with ages and keeps a list of what she's got. I am not organised at all. I usually just buy bits until I think they are about even.
NOT THIS YEAR. This year I will do better. I am also going to make a strict budget and stick to it.
I did find a couple of really cute reusable bags while in England. The Bluey one is for Baby A's gifts and the Stich one is for my daughter.
The last couple of years I have been trying to use these instead of the paper gift bags I had been using. I think these are a lot more handy as they can be reused and last a lot longer!
When do you start your Christmas shopping? Are you a planner or a procrastinator?
A little side note - I was surprised when my sister was doing her bargain shopping, she added things together at the price she'd paid when working out gift costs rather than what the original price was.
Well done getting a head start on the Christmas gifts shopping. I have a list of people I give gifts to and daughter painted some cardstock for me to turn into cards, but, I haven't made or bought any gifts yet.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is really talented. I hope you'll show some of the designs on your blog!
DeleteI have a few bits already, needs must, I use the heavy card bags and daughter returns them to me after each use, the grandchildren love to have a bag of goodies.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good! I think we usually end up moving bags around from one house to the next lol.
DeleteI haven't started gift shopping yet. There are four little children, and I enjoy buying for them - they're quite easy, then there are four older ones - not quite so easy. One grandson, nearly 13, has disowned us and all his mother's side of his family - long story - so he won't be getting anything, because I'm nasty like that!! The adult grandchildren are all in their twenties and would be embarrassed to receive anything now. Fun, fun, fun!
ReplyDeleteIt does get more complicated as they grow older. Sorry to hear about your Grandson. We have mainly adults to buy for (there aren't a lot of children in the family) so I find it really tough especially as they tend to buy most of what they want.
DeleteI don't have much shopping any longer. Kids get a couple smallish and money unless there's something specific I can think of, but still money. I do a small gift for MIL and take her on an experience of sort, play or music and dinner. No young kids to buy for and we now do a gift game at my sister's.
ReplyDeleteI still end up getting my children gifts for Christmas. Money would be a little easier and we do that for birthdays. I try to find something different but that seems harder to do once they get older!
DeleteI saw a perfect Christmas present for a friend last week and for once I've bought it!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Better to get it when you see it.
DeleteChristmas presents already?? NO!!
ReplyDeleteLol. That's usually me.
Deletegood idea! I'm going to use reusable bags too! Thanks
