Back...Again

Took a longer break than I intended. Life. It happens that way sometimes.

Update on Life

I did go to daughter's. Had a lovely time. Baby A is getting so big and saying all kinds of words. She is really just delightful!

She dressed up as Bluey for Halloween and had a lot of fun. Daughter lives in a really small town and a few of the shops were open for Trick or Treat. She had a lot of fun walking from shop to shop and getting treats. There weren't that many of them, but just enough for her! Later in the evening, she went to a couple of neighbours' houses. Daughter and SIL have a lot of children coming by and Baby A helped hand out the sweets to the other children. She was really quite good at it and had a lot of fun.

Update on MIL - not so good news. She ended up getting an infection around the feeding tube and was taken back to hospital. She decided to opt not to get another one. She has been moved to Hospice Care, end-of-life care. She is just tired and has had enough. It's a difficult time. We are visiting her daily and taking photos and videos of Baby A as well as video calling. The place she is in now is lovely. She seems quite comfortable.

I have blogs to catch up on. Lots of them. It will probably take me days!

  1. Glad you had a good time with little A, the pictures and videos will be cheering for MIL. We took battery powered candle to my father in hospital. Also small battery powered colour changing lamp. They seemed to comfort him. (Had to remember to take batteries with us in case!)

    1. Oh that's really nice. She doesn't seem to want anything around her. Sadly

  2. I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL, but, her wishes must come first. She sounds like she is in a good place where she will be taken care of until the end.
I'm so glad you were able to visit daughter and Baby A. Sounds like Baby A had a lovely Halloween. She looks cute in her costume. :)

    1. Definitely. I told her when they asked her initially about the feeding tube that it was up to her. I told her that we wanted her with us for a long time, but her decision was final. Her mind was not affected from the stroke so it's up to her.
It was a lovely break. She really cheers me up and makes me smile.

  4. You had a lovely time with your granddaughter, but how sad it is for your mother-in-law. She is lucky that you are able to be in touch so much.

It's sad to see MIL as she is, but all we can do is abide by her wishes and visit her and let her know how much we love her.

  7. Baby A looks adorable.

So sorry to hear about your MIL. Sending all the hugs and good wishes.

Please take care of yourself. You and your husband are going through an incredibly tough time. Now is a good time to be kind to yourselves and each other as you support your MIL and the family.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.
