Weekend and the Dreaded S Word

The weekend didn't quite go as planned. I did get a few things done but nowhere near as much as I had hoped. The time just seemed to have flown by! I have worked out my menu for the week so that's good. I still have to write the shopping list though. Not so good. I sort of sorted through the pile I wanted to. It's slightly smaller but not as sorted as I had hoped!

As for the dreaded S word, yes it did snow. Not too much, but enough to stick to things. The roads - touch wood - seem clear for now as the ground is still too warm. We're supposed to have snow showers until Tuesday. I am hoping roads will be clear enough that I can get out for a walk in the morning. It's going to be cold though 20F/-7C. I'm not quite ready for it!

The photos were taken with my phone so they seem quite dark!

In the Garden

Husband built a mini snowman while we were out lol. It was rather dark and dingy all day. I would have liked it better with a bit of light! I am not liking these darker days.

  1. Haha! Here we would be saying 'snow!' and leaping around in excitement! But -7C sounds fiercely cold.

    1. Ok, I admit it. I was happy to see it. I always enjoy the first snow, but halfway through winter I'm done with it lol

  3. Here along the south coast in UK, we miss snow most years, if it does snow it's never very much and always gone in a few days or even overnight. Love your photo's.

    1. Thank you! Once in a while my sister in Ipswich sends me snow photos. I'm not sure what possessed me to move here!

  4. Nope, I do not approve of the white stuff. I hope that it stays clear for you and that's far too cold!!!

    1. I don't like driving in it. I think I end up with a knot in my stomach all winter long.

  5. The snow is pretty, but also treacherous. It seems awfully soon for such weather, and so cold already. It makes our temperatures seem quite balmy!

    1. It is pretty, but horrible to drive in.
We always get one snowfall in November, but it doesn't last for long.

  6. SNOW..... crikey we're still in double figures over here. It's all set to cool down pretty soon though. Wrap up warm and stay safe.

  7. Oh, but the snow looks so beautiful and the little evergreen tree looks just what they look like in a typical winter scene! But 20F is cold!
As long as you got something done over the weekend, I'd count it as a win! I don't know why, but, I, too, never seem to accomplish as much as I plan to. I think things take me longer to do than I realize when I plan to do things. Well done getting the meal plan done. That's on my agenda for today.

    1. The little evergreen was once one of our Christmas trees. For a few years we bought live trees until we ran out of space!
I did get some things done so I'll take that as a win

    1. Oh no! Ours lasted three days. Tomorrow is supposed to warm up and it will all melt - for now. It does remind me that I need to get certain things done before true winter arrives.
