Weekend

It's been a pretty good weekend. Hot. Too hot for me. I did go out for a walk with husband both days. Ugh. We were both sweating even with a little exertion. We did quite the walk today. Husband chose the place to go as I was uming and ahing. I wasn't that enthused with his choice, but I went along with it. Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Husband said, we haven't been there for a while. I was thinking, yup, that's because of the hills. I don't like walking all uphill. I think he had forgotten about them, though the name should have given him a clue - dunes=hills. The hills just about did him in! It's pretty much a mile and a half to the beach through the hills, down to the beach, then you have to climb up the sand hill to walk back through the woods up some more hills. I think the sand makes it worse. Needless to say, we were both sweating when we got back to the car, but I think I fared better than him as I walk most days. I still don't like hills though.

Before we stopped there, we stopped at a Sunflower field. It isn't completely in bloom yet, but there were quite a few sunflowers. I reckon I'll miss most of the blooms and I wanted to see at least a few. I really did enjoy that stop - much more than the hilly walk!

I think it's really generous of the owner to allow people to visit. This is one of the few fields where there isn't a cost to visit or take photos. There are even little cutouts amongst the flowers so people can take photos without trampling in the flowers. They do have a little stall with sunflowers and (today at least) some tomatoes. We bought a couple of both. I want to support the farmer and hope others who visit do the same!

The Weekend

It's been a bit cooler here over the weekend though it's going to heat up again tomorrow and onward. Still, I have enjoyed it while I could. Saturday I was actually up in the craft room. There was a lot of moving things around from one spot to another, but I did sort out a small pile that I'm willing to get rid of. I am in the process of clearing off the desk, so I'll at least have a spot to work. I'm hoping that once I start creating, I can see what brings me enjoyment and what I can decide to get rid of. At least that's the plan! It isn't a big room but, if it wasn't for all the stuff in there, it would be enough for me.

Today husband and I went out for the morning. We did stop by the beach. It was quite pleasant as we were there when it was fairly cool. There is still smoke in the air, so the sun wasn't really hot. There weren't a lot of people around either (which I particularly enjoyed lol). There were quite a few people fishing. After we had stopped there, we drove along the lakeshore a bit and stopped at another park. That was also quiet (at least for a while). We sat on an old bit of concrete (think it used to be part of a pier) and enjoyed looking at the lake and hearing the gentle lap of the water. I really miss the sound of waves on the beach, but there was a tiny breeze so a little bit of sound!

This afternoon I chatted with daughter and Baby A. They are all feeling so much better now. Baby A was her usual funny self. I so enjoy spending time with her. Even at her age (while it holds her attention) she's good at carrying the phone around and even propping it up so I can watch her lol.

This week I have to really work on the budget. Last month was quite a strain on finances. This month I need to buckle back down. I am really debating whether I should start writing down everything that we spend. Do you do that? I'm sure I'd find out some things that we spend more on than we should.

Phone Photos for today -

All-in-all it hasn't been a bad weekend. I've been pretty productive too! How was your weekend?

Weekend

It wasn't a bad weekend. Quite productive. I did some walking, some relaxing and some sorting/cleaning. I did actually get up in the craft room (despite the heat) and although the worktable isn't all cleared off there is some space to work on. Hopefully I'll be able to get up there again this week.

On Friday husband took the donation boxes to the charity shop. I have started to fill up another bag, but I don't want it sitting around too long so the plan is to fill it up and then drop it off. There is only a little bit more to sort in the living/dining room and then I will be (sort of) happy with the way things are.

On Saturday, I went for my normal walk. It was quiet and peaceful. Today husband and I took a little visit to the beach and a walk along the lakeshore. It started to get a bit hot, so we didn't last too long lol. On our way back home I found a Sunday Farmer's Market and I really fancy some fresh tomatoes, so we stopped there and picked up a couple, some fresh eggs, a cucumber and some radishes. Not the cheapest, but both the eggs and the tomatoes were so good! The tomatoes actually had some flavour which I find the ones I find in the shops not to have. I really need to grow some next year!

This week - I have a list made for tomorrow. I do need to make a menu plan. It's on the list to do. I want to make sure to use some items from the freezer in the meal plan. I don't think there will be a lot of food I'll need to buy this week, but I'll make a list and go on Tuesday.

A couple of phone photos from today

It was actually quite peaceful early in the morning, only a few people around.

Weekend

It's been rather a relaxing weekend. Yesterday husband and I went to the flea market (a cross between a boot sale and market). It's been years since we've been. I thought it would be something different to do and have a little look around. We lasted about half of it before we both agreed it was too hot, and we left.  We'd like to go back perhaps when it's a little cooler. We wouldn't want to go there all the time, but we agreed it was rather fun to have a look around!

This morning we got up really early (I was up at 4.30am, husband even earlier) as we had decided to drive across the state to go to the National Wildlife Refuge drive and see what we could see. It was a fun day. We walked just a bit (still hot and humid) on the trails but had a good time seeing what we could see. The wildlife refuge is basically just an unspoiled green space that wildlife and birdlife tend to gather close to as there are a lot of waterways. We say loads and loads of egrets and herons, a couple of eagles and lots of other birds. We both had an enjoyable time.

Later, when we were home, middle son and his girlfriend came over and ate with us. A nice ending to the long weekend.

Some phone photos from today.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and a good start to the week! What are your plans this week?

Easter Weekend

Saturday morning, I went for a walk. It was pretty chilly and not that great out, but I did get out for a bit. I saw the owls again - 2 babies and 1 adult on Saturday so that was kind of fun. I did get my list done for Saturday - well, except for the shredding which seems to keep getting pushed back to another day! I don't know why I keep putting it off. Maybe it's because the shredder isn't handy. It really does need to get done this week!

Husband and I went out for our Sunday Adventure on Sunday. We walked at a different park we hadn't been too before. To be honest, it was a little disappointing. The website showed wooden paths and bridges over some water. They were all blocked off due to damage. They looked very neglected as though they hadn't been taken care of for quite a while. There was a little bit of pretty blossom on the trees. It was certainly beginning to look a lot like Spring. Some of the trees are beginning to get leaves on them too.

On the way back home we stopped at another small park. Not a great long walk, but by that point it was rather pleasant outside.

I really liked this tree. So unusual

I could almost imagine something living in there!

Later Sunday Afternoon, son J stopped by and stayed for a little bit. Daughter sent lots of photos of Baby A enjoying Easter. It brought back memories of how busy and joyful Easters were when the children were little.

Here's one of Baby A. She was wearing a mask. She didn't seem to mind it! When daughter took her to see the Easter Bunny on Friday she was not pleased! Baby A definitely takes after Daughter.

It wasn't a bad weekend in all. How was yours?

Looking a Bit Brighter

The snow has cleared off and things are looking a little brighter. At least for a few days. The mornings have been really chilly, but today actually ended up quite nice. There was a lovely sunrise yesterday, not so great today though.

A couple of phone photos

I had quite a nice walk both days.

Life seems pretty quiet right now. I really shouldn't be complaining. Sometimes quiet is good. I've been plodding along, getting daily housework done and sorting a few bits though not as much as I should be. I've been going through a sleepy stage and seem tired all the time. Menopause seems to have its ups and downs and sleep seems to be one of them. Right now it's being tired. I can't seem to get enough sleep. Perhaps I should just give in and have a massive sleep session. As it is I've been trying to get up my normal time. This afternoon I actually fell asleep in my chair!

During my walk today I decided to check out 'my' square a bit more. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I volunteered - through my Asylum Lake group - to adopt a square to do a plant inventory of the area. The goal is to see what grows in a certain area so that replanting can be done or to see what invasive species are taking root and preventing native species from flourishing. There is an online map which, in theory, should be easy. I am directionally challenged. Even with the technology I struggle. As I was sorting my way through the woods trying to find the boundaries of my square, I caught sight of a ribbon someone had tied around the tree to signal a corner of their square (which is also a corner of my square). I suddenly turn and sitting low on a branch is a Great Horned Owl! How cool! I sat down on a log and watched for a while, took some photos with my big camera and a couple with the phone.

Of course, I haven't sorted the camera photos but here's a phone photo

I know they live in the woods in that area somewhere so hopefully, while I'm out doing plant inventory, I'll see more of it!

Tomorrow is our Sunday Adventure day. It is supposed to be quite mild, but cloudy. I think we're going for a walk in a park. We'll see. Husband says he needs to walk more and it's a flat area and there is some okay scenery and birds.

Not sure much else will get done. I do need to meal plan and write a list for the week. I think I'm going to start doing daily lists and then a weekly list of other projects that need to get done. I need to step things up before our trips away start!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Weekend

It wasn't a bad weekend. Pretty chilly. The volunteer clean-up at Asylum Lake went really well on Saturday. It was sunny but bitterly cold. About 40 people showed up though! It was lovely to see people of all ages, from really young children to teens to adults then to seniors. A great mix of people. 20 big bags of rubbish were picked up. I can't believe there was that much! By the time I got back home I was ready to have a nice warm bath.

On Sunday we decided to go to Kensington Metropark which has a lovely nature walk in it. We were hoping it was going to be warmer, but at least it was dry! It's over closer to some cities and they have a series of what are called Metroparks. Kensington has 4,481 acres of land. There are golf courses, boating, running, biking, farm centre and more. They also have a great nature centre which is what we like to go to. There's lot of trails in that area for walkers. No dogs or bikes allowed (there are plenty of other areas of the park where these are allowed). It's really great for birdwatching. At this time of year, the herons are building their nests up in the rookery, which is what we were going to look for.

They were up in their nests. It's really fun to watch one of them brings sticks for the nests to the other one. I think it's part of their mating ritual.

Today the weather was still colder, and it snowed! Not sure Mother Nature has got the message yet that it's supposed to be Spring. My friend had texted early to say she had forgotten that she had a dentist appointment and wouldn't be walking. I was glad! I did a really short walk and headed off to go to the shops. I've had enough of snow. Sigh.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Weekend

I don't suppose it's been a too bad weekend. I went out for a bit yesterday morning by myself. It was ok. A little chilly. I did get up in the craft room, did a couple of bits, looked at the mess and then left again. It's been like that each time I've gone up there. I'm really struggling with sorting through anything up there. I'm definitely going to have to think of a new way to approach it.  Son J and his girlfriend came over later in the day on Saturday and stayed for something to eat. I think J is finally settling in his new flat.

Today the weather turned horrible. Of course it did, it's Sunday! There were a couple of places we were thinking of going to today but decided not to as it wasn't worth the trip when the weather was so lousy. We ended up just visiting the lakeshore for a quick - absolutely freezing - walk! It surprised me that there was still ice along the lakeshore despite how warm it's been this week. We weren't out as long as we usually are, but it was still nice to get out. Here's hoping that the weather is better next week! This afternoon, after we got back it actually snowed!

Snow in the garden this afternoon.

I spent the afternoon doing a bit of sorting, a bit of looking around the craft room and a bit of computer stuff. Not a really busy day, but a teeny bit productive. I have made a menu for the week, and we stopped at the shops to pick up a few bits including most of what I needed for the week. I'm trying hard not to spend too much money this week. I have a dreaded dentist appointment on Tuesday so that will be more than enough spent for the week!

A couple of phone photos from today

There will have to be some digging done before anyone can sit on this bench!

Quite windy today. Neither husband or I lasted long on the beach and there wasn't anyone else around either !

Weekend

It hasn't been a bad weekend. Yesterday morning we woke to a bit more snow. It was actually quite pretty. It had settled on the trees and a little on the ground.

I got out for a little bit of a walk but not a lot and the rest of the day I really didn't do much. It really was a lazy sort of day.

Our clocks went forward this morning. Ugh. It was quite dark this morning and, of course, quite light this evening. I'm not sure I like it so much!

I went out today for a drive along the lakeshore. Not far. Husband overslept so I left him and went by myself. I wasn't about to wake him. I had planned on us going up the lakeshore a bit and working our way down stopping at some little parks and seeing the last of the ice. Temperatures are warming up and are supposed to be 73f/23C by the end of the week! What a change! Even today was vastly different from the cold of yesterday. Today we got up to 55F/13C - really a warm-up from what we've been having.

It was lovely out. There were quite a few people out and about enjoying the sunshine. I couldn't believe some of the idiots people out on the ice. I cringed as a couple took a toddler up to the top of an ice mountain. At this temperature they are melting, and bits break off. It's also quite deceiving as it may look like solid ice, but on the other side it could be hollowed out! I ended up meandering down to another park where I knew there wouldn't be too many people.  There were a few people about on the beach at this other park, but they were searching for different stones along the shore. It was all quite relaxing.

Some ice chunks

There were some green bits poking through!

It was another lazy day when I got home. Mind you, it was later in the afternoon when I did get back. I did stop to pick up a few food bits on my way home. I have my menus planned for the week and picked up the first half of what I need so I won't have to go out tomorrow. I'm writing a list for tomorrow and will get back to the sorting and cleaning after my walk tomorrow. I picked up a couple of boxes while I was out today as I need more to put books in. My plan is to finish the bookcase downstairs this week and then take another look at one of the ones in the living room. It seems every time I look through them I am able to let a few more books go.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

March 1st - Saturday

Thank you for the lovely comments on the last post. We'll see how much I can get rid of this month!

March 1st. Wow. After yesterday's mild temperatures, the cold returned. Really cold. The wind was blowing too. It was so bitter I couldn't walk for long. I ended up coming home again pretty soon and husband and I decided to go to the Amish shop, stopping at a small park on our way. There are several eagles in the area. It didn't disappoint! I didn't get any great photos, but I saw plenty of eagles. The water was mostly frozen with only a few small open areas where the eagles were fishing. I had to have seen more than ten of them! Quite unusual for our area.

I made a small list today, but nothing too significant. I checked off all I had on there, including going up in the craft room. I pulled out a few items I'm ready to get rid of...maybe...sort of. Sigh. The craft room has become my new nemesis. I'm hoping at some point it will become easier to get rid of things. I'm reallly struggling there. Maybe, at some point it will become like the books (had a problem with letting go of them) and something will click, and it will be easier. I have to keep in mind that the goal is to have a relaxing house and to think about what I'd really like to take with me to that dream small cabin lol.

Tomorrow it's supposed to be a little warmer. We aren't talking heatwave. It might reach freezing. I think the winds are supposed to be lighter. We're going out for our usual Sunday Adventure, but I'm not sure where yet. Definitely somewhere near Lake Michigan. There is still some ice around, but this is probably the last weekend.

Photo for today - the beginnings of Spring. Once the snow had started to melt in the woods the tops of daffodils began to peek up through the leaves.

Okay Saturday

It's been an okay sort of day. Nothing spectacular. I woke up this morning and there were a few inches of new wet, heavy snow. The snow ploughs came through on our road fairly early and because we weren't a lot below freezing the salt they dropped cleared off the road by about 11am. I hadn't gone out early. It was grey and dull, one of those days when the sky is a flat colour with no contrast at all. With the extra overnight snow, I didn't fancy trying to trudge through more snow.

Husband was still coughing but did manage to get out and snowblow the driveway. I had got out yesterday and shovelled a path along the side of the house, to the front porch and around my car but with the extra snowfall and the ploughs coming through (they end up shoving a pile in front of the driveway) it really needed to be done. He was out of breath when it was done. The inhaler he was given seems to help.

We did get out for a bit. He usually cooks on the weekend and although I had planned quick things I could do instead of him, we decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway from a place in a neighbouring town. I persuaded him to stop at a park there and I took a quick walk even though the snow was quite deep!

It was nice just to get out. I like this park. There are some fairly big hills there and there were people out with their children sledding down the hills. There was even a place you could borrow one! How good is that?

I had forgotten how much I like this park. There are lots of really interesting trees there. It was actually quite peaceful. I certainly felt better getting out. It was nice to hear the children laughing as they played in the snow.

There is more snow coming. Maybe. Perhaps. At some time. Lol. It's a running joke with husband and I as the forecast never seems to be right!  We haven't got a lot extra today, but we're still under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7pm tomorrow night so we shall see. We are going out tomorrow. Husband probably won't be walking, but he is up to driving me somewhere.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend!

Sunday, Monday

We did go out yesterday, but it wasn't great :( It snowed overnight, and the roads were horrible. There was snow on top of a layer of ice. We made it where we had planned, but the drive was pretty lousy. The person behind us on a chunk of the drive was too close. I think he just thought that if he got closer we'd go faster. Husband was driving as conditions dictated. He was following behind traffic but not too close. At one point, the person behind tried to overtake (there were supposed to be two lanes on the motorway but the outside lane was completely covered in chunky ice!) but gave up as the ice was too bad on that side. Ended up back behind us, right up our backside again. Sigh.

It was foggy where we ended up. Not the nice kind, but a dull kind. The ice was lovely, but the light was terrible to take photos in.

The good thing was that by the time we drove back the roads were completely clear.

Today was still very foggy out. I went for a walk and made a couple of stops and then came home.

Update on the time management - it's not going well - something to definitely work on! I spent too long out walking today. Not because the weather was great and I was enjoying it, but because the trails were icy and slippery and hard going in spots. I've decided that tomorrow I'm having a shorter walk and getting things done. I've made a list (something I haven't done the last few days). Seeing things written down does help keep me on track!

Another video - this one from yesterday. It made me smile to see the swans and ducks on a piece of ice as it floated along.

I uploaded this one from my computer. Not sure which is better! Can everyone access the Youtube videos or is it better from the computer?

Hopefully back tomorrow! I'll let you know if I get all my list completed!

Weekend Catch-up

Here it is Sunday again and I haven't posted in a couple of days. I've just been tired at the end of the day and not wanted to do a lot of anything!

Husband and I ended up at son's on Friday. Poor husband was coming down with something but he soldiered on. We got a lot done, but we'd both had enough halfway through the day and decided to start again on Saturday. Saturday morning we were back at it. Older son came with us to help as well. We got a lot done. As much as we could. Older son and husband had plans in the afternoon, so we left around noon and let other son finish up. Today he left the keys. He's done as much as he can. He's glad to be done with it. I'm not sure what will happen from here, but the amount of time we spent there we know we did what we could considering it's an older place, that he's lived in for nine years and there was some fixes they had done that they didn't finish.

Poor husband still isn't feeling well. He's been coughing most of the weekend. It sounds like something is going around at work. One of his workers had left early on Thursday feeling sick and been off on Friday. Another one has already called in sick for tomorrow. Husband is going to go in, he has to put in the hours for his workers so they can get paid. He's not sure whether he'll stay or not. He'll see how he is.

He did drive me around today. He sat in the car most of the time but got out at the last spot. We went to the lakeshore so I could take some photos. It was good of him as he wasn't feeling well. I think he felt a little sorry for me as I'd been stuck in the house all week. He did get out at the last little lakeside park to walk out on the ice with me. I won't go by myself. It's thick at the edges, but sometimes part of it is brittle and I wouldn't want to hurt myself and have no-one with me! He said the air felt good for a bit.

It was beautiful out. Cold, but it was partly sunny. Up on top of the ice was stunning. It's amazing how far out the ice is!

I am standing in the lake as I take this, and all this ice is formed when the waves come up and the lake freezes. Seeing scenes like this is the only good part about winter!

The weather looks to be better this week. I'm going to make the most of it. Get out for some walks. Replenish the cupboards and freezer. Finish up my monthly decluttering.

Do you have plans for the week? I can't believe January is almost at an end!

Weekend

The move with son went ok. We still have to get a few bits out. He needs to hand over the keys next Saturday so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate. Luckily, yesterday the roads were good. We loaded and unloaded, and older son and husband built a few pieces of furniture. We were all glad to be done at the end of the day! Middle son (J who was moving) girlfriend came over later with a sofa found at a thrift store and she bought him all new bedding for his bed. He spent his first night there and was a little anxious (I suppose only natural) but both he and the cat managed to have a good night!

We did pop in at the lighthouse before we went to help with the move. I'm glad we did! The sun wasn't shining, and the clouds were quite thick but at least the sky has some definition! The ice is starting to form!

Today the weather was...well, just horrible! I wanted to go up the lakeshore to Grand Haven and Muskegon to go see how the ice there was doing. We made it as far as Grand Haven. The snow was blowing and the roads were horrible! I got out there and took some photos (those aren't sorted yet). The ice was beginning to form. There were a couple of people quite close to the edge - really dodgy! Later I saw a news item on the weather channel where someone had taken a drone video of an adult and two children right on the edge of the ice yesterday! It's just crazy. A chunk of ice broke off right in front of them. I don't know what the adult was thinking! We always see things like that though. I don't understand their thinking. The person today was with a camera trying to take photos at the edge. I had my long lens and took photos safely from the shore.

We worked our way back down the lakeshore towards home. The drive was quite...nail biting. The snow was quite fluffy and when there was a car in front of us it was just throwing up snow so we couldn't see anything. There were so many people driving without lights too!

Here's our drive

When we were safely able to pull over the back of our car looked like this! There was at least three inches of snow on the back (none on the front).

It was pretty cold today. I think the high was 19F (-7C) wind chill a lot colder as the wind was about 20mph. It's supposed to get really cold tomorrow and Tuesday. We are under a Winter Weather Advisory (until Tuesday 7pm) and a Cold Weather Advisory (until Wednesday 12pm). It might mean a couple of days inside for me! I'll go crazy not being able to get out for a walk, but I think it's a little too cold for a decent one. At least I managed to get out for a little bit this weekend!

There are lots of things that need to be sorted and put away. Why do I always seem to end up with little piles of things? If I feel the urge to get outside, I'll bundle up, stand on the back porch and take some bird photos after filling up bird feeders. I'm pretty sure they will be eating like crazy tomorrow as they try to stay warm in the frigid temps!

What plans do you have for the week?

Sunday

We went out for a little walk this morning. Not the brightest day and - eeeekkk - it was SO cold! We only lasted a little while on our first beach walk. Husband slipped on the snow and took a tumble. He didn't hurt anything badly, but he is a little sore now! The second place we stopped at it wasn't quite as cold (still below freezing lol) and I took a longer walk while husband sat in the car. The beach was absolutely deserted. Although it was quiet I had a lovely time just walking, looking at what had been washed up and patterns in the sand. It was nice not to think about things for a little while

We did stop and pick up a few bits on the way the home. The list is really small now. I am hoping to pick up the last few things tomorrow - if the weather holds! We're under another Winter Storm Advisory. It looks like maybe freezing rain and snow this time. Fingers crossed it holds off until midday or later so I can at least get to the shops after a quick walk. Otherwise, I will be braving the shops on Christmas Eve - sigh. I really don't want to. Though today when we went it was quite quiet - quieter than a normal Sunday it seemed!

We also stopped at the in-laws on the way home. Daughter was going to have Baby A open her gift from them and daughter wanted to be able to video call with them. It was rather cute. Baby A sat nicely in my daughter's lap and helped open the presents. She even said oooohhh when she saw the gifts lol. So delightful! I can't wait to see her!

Back home, I got myself a nice cup of soup and spent the rest of the afternoon warming up lol

Hope everyone has had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead!

De-cluttering Update (week)

I did get up this morning and take a rather dull walk. The beavers were out doing their thing which was rather nice and there weren't many people around. I sat on my log, watched and listened as the gathered geese honked and took off and just made a lot of noise. It was really rather...well, peaceful for all that noise.

Holes in trees like this made me think of my childhood reading Enid Blyton and imagining all kinds of wonderful, fantastical creatures that lived in the woods.

I came home and did a bit more sorting. This week I've managed to get back on it again. I am really pleased with the progress I've made.

Here are some of the things I've managed (well, those I remembered to make note of!)

    * 33 Music CDs

    * bunch cards

    * 4 audio books

    * silicone teacup molds

    * 2 rolls curling ribbon

    * 7 miscellaneous items

    * 35 books

    * 76 DVDs (wowwww!)

I am SO pleased with what I got accomplished this week. Sadly, it doesn't even seem to have made a dent, but I shall plod on as the more I get rid of the more I'll be able to see the results!

Is anyone else decluttering? Is it an ongoing process or something you do once in a while?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

The Weekend

 Husband took the donations to the charity shop. There ended up being five boxes! I've already filled up another one as I got in the mood to do a bit of sorting out on Saturday afternoon while the house is quiet. This week I have plans to tackle the top shelf in my wardrobe and the cupboard by the back door (yikes!). Maybe by the end of the week there might be another couple of boxes to be donated. I told hubby I'm trying to think as though we're moving into a cabin and deciding what we can take with us. I'm not sure I'm that good at getting rid of stuff yet, but every bit is a little less in the house.

Today husband and I went on a little Sunday Adventure. We did a little walk but I ended up feeling a bit blah and the amount of people around was making me a little less than happy! It was bright and sunny where we went though so that was a bonus. Back here at the house it was very cloudy.

Now that summer is officially over they have already started putting up the winter fences. It is so amazing to me that in a few months there may not be a lot of this fence showing!

A walk along the pier at Muskegon, Pere Marquette Park. I loved the clouds! You do have to watch where you put your feet here as the concrete is not the best.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Do you have plans for the week?

Can you believe it's almost October?

It's the Weekend

I did go out this morning for a walk. It was ok. It got hot and humid pretty quick, and I think there were others who had the same idea as I did about getting out early and beating the heat. I did stick around for a while - took a walk in the woods and it was quieter (people ways) when I was heading back to my car.

A couple of phone photos from my walk

The plan today was to have no plans after my walk. A somewhat relaxing day.

I did (TA-DA!!) find up my cross stitch that (ages and ages ago) I'd been working on and did some of it. Sigh. I don't mind getting older, but I don't like the result on my eyesight! It used to be I could stitch really easily, but I struggled with light and threading the needle lol. I did find it enjoyable though

Hopefully there will be more progress to come!

I also (finally) finished a book I've been struggling with. It's done and in the donate pile! On to the next one. I've been doing really well about not buying any new physical books. I have bought a few (on sale) Kindle books but they don't take up space

Do you have plans for the weekend? How's the weather where you are?
