We've spent this week on the first of our five day mini breaks. This first one was in Devon. The weather had been lovely. I've really enjoyed this trip. One of our days out included a quick visit to Dartmoor National Park. It was absolutely stunning. I would love to be able to go back and walk there at some point. On our free day we visited Torre Abbey Gardens. Really beautiful and peaceful.
Looks idyllic, what a beautiful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad you have been enjoying the delights of Devon! I live in Torbay, so Torre Abbey is local to me, and a lovely place it is, too. Indeed, we passed it on our way home from Waitrose this morning, the tide was in, and tourists were enjoying walking along the sea front, it looked idyllic and we thought - as we always do as we drive along there from a shopping trip - how very lucky we are to live here (and we have a slight sea view from our sitting room window.) Dartmoor is stunning, even if it's al brown instead of green right now! We enjoy a drive across the moor to visit Tavistock, where Drake was once MP for the town. It was Drake who organized the building of Drake's Leat, taking water from Dartmoor to the city of Plymouth.

DeleteSo glad you enjoyed your visit to Torbay, Sharon. We love it here, but we would say that, wouldn't we!!! Such a beautiful place and many other lovely places not too far away, too. Do come back again.
