Friday

Today dawned very windy and dull, a bit drizzly too. It was warm-ish out this morning, but temperatures dropped as the day went on. I went for my usual walk. There wasn't a lot around, but it was nice that the paths are almost ice free now - at least until tomorrow when we are supposed to get more snow. It was so peaceful out, I think I saw two other people the whole time I was there. Surprising, considering the warmer temperatures.

After my walk I went straight home and got on with things. I had written myself a list and got everything done. It wasn't a really long list, but I felt productive and it was nice ticking things off. I popped in a piece of beef and veggies into the slow cooker - something I had found marked down which is really rare for me - for dinner so that was taken care of. In the afternoon, I messaged with sister for our usual time and later in the evening I video called with daughter and Baby A. Daughter is feeling better, but she was still coughing and sounded stuffed up. Baby A read me some books and showed me some of her toys. It was lovely.

Phone Photos - Things That Make Me Smile

The weather didn't make me smile but I enjoyed the peace. The wind was blowing quite fiercely, and the clouds were rushing by. It was quite lovely

Do you have plans for the weekend?

I'm hoping for a walk before the snow and maybe some decluttering!

  1. Well done with the lists and ticking things off! I love the fact that Baby A read you some of her books! So adorable. That photo you took looks very admospheric with the dark clouds and the lake water reflecting them.
My weekend plans include knitting and maybe sorting through some paperwork.

    1. Oh I hope you have a good, relaxing weekend!
Baby A is adorable. She likes to 'read' - takes after Mum and Nana. I hope she grows up loving books as it is something all of us (women especially) on my side of the family enjoy

  2. Batch cooking today... red cabbage and beef meatballs. We had meatballs, a can of baked beans, and vegetables for lunch, 2 meals of meatballs in the freezer to be joined by red cabbage eventually

    1. Nice! I'm no good at batch cooking. I really need to do more of it as it would be nice to have home cooked ready meals in the freezer!

  3. We had a dusting, which makes me nervous as I can't see the ice if there underneath, and too little for the plow to come on roads or the paths. It's also colder again so likely not to melt. Is it spring yet?

    1. I don't like winter driving at all. It makes me too anxious. I can't wait for Spring too!
