I did end up staying in yesterday. There was snow first thing. It wasn't much, but it was enough to just make me say nope, and I stayed inside instead. I got quite a bit of listing stuff done and a few shipping bits. I'm trying to add to the holiday/vacation fund. In the afternoon, I chatted with my sister. I was complaining about the snowy days, and she was complaining about the rainy days! We do make a pair!
We did go out this morning. It was quite peaceful again though as we were getting ready to head back home more people were coming out to take a walk and look at all the ice. I must admit that I did a (LOT) of people watching. On one side of the pier husband and I walked out a bit where the snow had been packed down (we had on ice things as well). A young lady passed us by, and I was surprised to see that she only had on a thin pair of shoes (I would call them plimsoles like what we used to wear for PE class, not sure what they are called over here). They didn't look very thick or warm or non-slip at all! She was happily taking photos and even mentioned when we reached her that she had been thinking about trying to get around the lighthouse bit. YIKES! Even people with thick old ice things on weren't attempting that.
I did sneak a photo of her. I took a few photos of people taking photos (I try not to get faces). This was the structure she was thinking about going around - eek! I just happily do my thing. I'm too old to take a lot of chances lol.
Later in the afternoon I had another meeting for Asylum Lake. It wasn't too bad. Lots to think about. Thankfully, there are people involved with more energy than me for such things!
Tomorrow, we are off on another adventure. I'm hoping it's not going to snow overnight - bit of a maybe there - we shall see!
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

My goodness! That's a lot of ice around that lighthouse! Hope you have a wonderful adventure, tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! We had a lovely time
DeleteJust looks so cold I wouldn't want to go anywhere! and yes, the rain in Suffolk has been never ending.
ReplyDeleteI think - fingers crossed - things are going to start warming up. Hope the rain eases up!
DeleteI'm astonished at what people wear when out in these kind of conditions. I watched a school party, years ago, on a trip up the Yorkshire fells, hiking up, girls in slip on shoes carrying shopping bags, boys in trainers wearing hoodies...
ReplyDeleteSome people are born lucky and never get into trouble. Hope your young lady was one of them.
It is ridiculous! Last year there was a girl out on the ice in her slippers!
DeleteShe made it back okay, thankfully
I love your ice photos. That girl worries me though. She doesn't seem to be dressed at all appropriately for the weather conditions and I hope she didn't fall, or worse. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. She made it back ok.
DeleteShe was probably young enough and can't imagine how a simple fall puts you out of commission for days! I hate walking in my neighborhood when it's too icy. That's a great little shot of her, privacy protected , but illustrates your description of her silliness.
ReplyDeleteI think that was exactly it - she was too young to be that worried. I don't like walking when it's icy. I do have Yaktraks which are a great investment.
DeleteYour final photograph is phenomenal. I can't imagine trying to walk there without the proper footwear.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was a little scary to watch her!
DeleteThat is a cool ice covered structure. Some people have to "learn the hard way" being too adventurous. Not me!
ReplyDeleteThey are wonderful to see. I'm a scaredy cat.
DeleteI remember my kids when they were at high school, standing outside waiting for the school bus, wearing no hat, not mitts, with running shoes on their feet and just a hoodie in minus 30 oC weather and thinking what a pair of idiots, albeit, my idiot children!!! However, they were with the rest of the idiots who were all wearing the same thing!! Makes no sense to me seeing people not dressed for the weather!
ReplyDeleteLol I remember the same thing!
