I've had a couple of fairly productive days. The list making helps. I got more done today than I anticipated as husband texted and said he'd be home early (he had to go on a driving trip for work, and it was shorter than expected). When he comes home differently than expected it throws me off. I know that I should go with the flow, but I find it really difficult to do. After all these years, husband is finally getting it and said he'd stop in and see his dad for a bit and then take my car for a (much needed) oil change and car wash.
Oil changes are not cheap. I checked the website for coupons and then (for some reason) decided to google whether they had a veteran's discount. They did, so I told husband to ask about it. He did and ended up with 25% off! Glad that's out of the way again for a bit.
Tomorrow is more of the same. One of the piles I wanted to tackle has (sort of) been tackled. Another I was starting to sort through when husband said he'd be home soon, so I put it all back away again. Sigh. It will be tackled tomorrow! I'm going to be positive and get it done. Wednesday is one of my quieter household-y days, so I'll have time. No excuses.
Things That Made Me Smile today
The Light on Asylum Lake - the temperatures here have been really mild the last few days, but the lake is still frozen. Loved the sunlight on the ice today.
My Merlin App picked up a Red-winged Blackbird today! It's the first sign of Spring here in Michigan. I think it's more of a false spring though as temperatures are expected to drop dramatically on Friday!
A Cooper's Hawk sitting nicely in the woods, ready to be photographed.
How was your day? What made you smile today?

What a beautiful photo of the light of the sun on the lake! And the hawk, too. That's a good discount on the oil change; what a good thing you checked! Sounds like you had a productive day. I took it fairly easy today due to the sciatica pain I've been experiencing. But, I made thin pancakes (crepes) for brunch, much to my daughter's delight.
ReplyDeleteI do hope the pain is getting better!
DeleteI certainly feel more productive when I write lists!
Going with the flow is harder than it sounds!
ReplyDeleteSun yesterday - 2 days in a row!. Was able to meet architect outside in garden for hour or so in afternoon without getting tooooo cold. (I don't like indoor meetings as I'm vulnerable to respiratory infections)
That's really good that you were able to meet outside! Make the most of that sunshine while you can.
DeleteIt's half term, so 3 youngest grandchildren here, house is a mess, lots of happy faces.
ReplyDeleteExhausting, but children are deligtful!
DeleteGood job tackling piles - doing same here. It's what they call a "fool's Spring" my older farmer neighbor said. "Don't get too excited" she said. Like I didn't know I lived in WI and this happens...ahaha. We have Koestrels that live in our woods by the barn. Lots of mice I'm sure keep them there.
ReplyDeleteLol, false spring, nice while it lasts. Back to snow again this weekend lol.
DeleteHow lovely you have them. I wish there were more birds in my little garden, but I'm lucky that Asylum Lake is so close!
The Cooper's Hawk posed very nicely for you. 😊
ReplyDeleteIt made me smile!
DeleteThank you for reminding me to smile! The picture of the hawk is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI know the struggle of not being able to carry on if disrupted. It feels to me like I've been going downstairs and missed a step. It throws me out. You seem to have got loads done against the odds, though, so perhaps you can take a win from that. Hugs x
That's exactly how it feels!
DeleteI do find that I am more productive when I write a list. I didn't today and I feel as though I procrastinated more than I got things done!
Lists are life!
