It's Wednesday again - time to join Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.
Phew am I glad January is over! I broke my Kindle, my computer, lost my phone and had to replace brakes on one car - it's been an expensive month! I did not find my phone or my scissors. Hopefully I won't be losing anything else. I didn't realise I would miss my phone so much! I had another one within a couple of days but I felt sort of lost. Two of my kids live in different towns and regularly text if they want to 'chat' or send me something funny. I missed that.
Anyway here's my desk for this week
I did end up colouring a few images. I made a couple of cards - one for a friend's birthday and one for a 'just because I love you and miss you Mum' card - I posted pictures of them on my previous posts. On my desk are a few finished images and the pages are another mini-book in progress.
I did pretty well with my no-craft-spending challenge for January. Not great. I admit to spending some BUT it was dramatically less than usual - having to fork out so much money for other stuff helped lol.
I did buy some Dylusions paints. They were on sale on the colours are just gorgeous. I couldn't resist. Sigh.
I'm off to go looking around at other desks. Hope everyone has a great week!

Hi Sharon, love the colours of Dylusions paints, aren't they glorious? I'm afraid my spending is going to be very naughty, after seeing all the stuff Tim is about to release!Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #20 xx
ReplyDeleteaww well i think after such an awful month you deserve those paints ! Your coloured images are lovely. Heres to a better month ( so you can spend more on stuff you want) . Soojay 13 xx
ReplyDeleteLove those images you have on your desk. Those will be fun to play with. Ouch! I can relate to expensive months. We had one in November and this one is gonna be a doozy too (and it is but 3 days old!). You can always pick yourself up and get back up on the no-spending horse again. It takes practice. I've been doing very limited craft spending for almost a year now and I still catch myself in old habits, shopping and searching.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! That sure does sound expensive! I would miss my kindle more than my phone though.
ReplyDeleteWell done for not buying anything. Well, the Dylusions are fab so you just had to have those of course. I can fully understand!
Thanks for the visit,
Happy WOYWWednesday,
Lisca
Hi Sharon, Dylusions paints, gorgeous! Why does it always happen all at once? Hope you managed to replace everything. Wishing you a great week and a happy woyww, Angela x 24
ReplyDeleteOoooh Sharon, I fully understand and support your purchase of those paints! Have fun with them!

Hi Sharon, Sure hope you don't have to replace anything else.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been rude not to have bought the paints:)
Looking forward to seeing the cards you make.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy WOYWW

You're not on your own, my January has been calamitous too. It's even carried on to this morning when I lost a contact lens...grrrrrrr. Ah well. Those Dylusion paints are lovely, what fab colours!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 17 xxx

You poor thing! I bet you are so happy January is done and gone! I too rely on my phone to text to my DD, every night I still say goodnight to her! I would feel lost as well. I got a $50 GC from Michael's for Christmas, may just get some of those Dylusions paints! It's so hard to spend just $50! Have a great week, hope everything starts to go you rway! Lindart #54
ReplyDeleteI'm with Lisca on this - I would always choose my Kindle over my phone! I hardly ever use my phone, I'm more of a PC-with-a-large-screen sort of person. My son always pushes his phone under my nose to show me something and I have to keep it at arm's length to see anything without my reading glasses. By the way, every time I visit your blog I get hungry looking at that cake! I haven't tried those paints yet. I'm sure the colours are gorgeous! Thanks for visiting earlier! zsuzsa #32
ReplyDeleteSorry you've had a run of bad luck with your car, your scissors, your phone & your computer. I can barely stand to be in a different room from my phone -- it's nuts. I don't even really text all that much -- it's like a security blanket. I like your colored images and the card you made for your Mum. In scrolling back to see your cards, I saw her good health news -- fantastic. Happy WOYWW and thanks for your visit. ~ Laura #41
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, thanks for swinging by and for the sweet comments about my foot - it has been a nightmare. I worked very hard to lose a lot of weight and now it looks like I need a new plan..to maintain it, as I can't do HIT. I can't believe your January, poor you. Feb will be better. I love how you have coloured the stamps - are they Unity Stamp Co by any chance? I really want that lady on the beach stamp! Cx #53

ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if you've had a run of technology going wrong last month, Sharon! We're going through a similar thing at the moment with everything in the house going wrong. Hopefully we'll get things fixed soon - just little things but irritating all the same. Those Dylusions paints are just gorgeous, aren't they. Lovely vibrant colours. Thanks for your visit, and I am so glad to be back in creative mode again. My room is so lovely and I felt quite guilty not wanting to go in there until recently! Glad you like what I've been working on.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,

Oh gosh what a time of it you've had - hope February is better. The paint colours are gorgeous. I was trying not to buy any non essentials craft wise and other but not been very successful :-( Thanks for visiting. Sorry I'm late - internet last night was playing up, Anne #x 19
ReplyDeleteNot just me who had an expensive start to the year then? Washing machine and faulty heating has cost rather a lot! But I must admit I had to spend something on crafting stuff to keep me sane too!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
