Son was over again on Wednesday to work. He was here all day. Just as he was finishing work he got notice that his Internet was connected again so he was able to work from home Thursday and Friday. Not that I ended up getting that much done. I did something to the back of my leg, just above my foot. It really hurts and is tender to the touch. I'm thinking it's a flair-up from my ankle as it's the same one I've had trouble with over the years. It's quite painful. I have been walking but not very far each day so I don't irritate it too much. If I don't walk at all it tightens up and is even more painful!
On Thursday when I was out walking, I got absolutely drenched. I was wearing a raincoat, but the rain came down so hard I still got wet! I had been planning on going straight from my walk to the post office, but I had to go home and change first as I was so wet!
I have totals from April decluttering, but I'll post tomorrow. Not a great month, but I'm plodding along with it and as long as things are leaving the house that's always a good thing!
One thing I did finally get done - the shredding! It is all up to date and the shredder put back away again. That does make me feel good!
Today I went for a little walk and then we went to a neighbourhood garage sale. This is a yearly event for us. This neighbourhood has so many sales you basically park your car and walk around the streets. Older son and husband like to go to this one. We didn't find loads of bargains. I got a few things. My favourite thing I got was a little set for Baby A. She likes to be helpful, so I thought she'd like this (photo courtesy of Amazon).
She's such a funny little girl. I video chatted with her yesterday and she was sitting in a large cardboard box with some toys and trying to prop up the phone so she could chat with me. It was really quite funny. I really need to find her a Wendy house/playhouse. I was telling daughter about the one Mum made for me. Mum was great at sewing, and I think she used an old bedspread to make this house with plastic windows and a door that she could slide over an old table. It didn't cost a lot, but I loved that house!
Hopefully back tomorrow with the decluttering totals!
They love a cardboard box, don't they!
ReplyDeleteAll the loads of toys she has and it's a cardboard box she keeps going back to lol
DeleteOur parents were so resourceful, my mum hand made most of my clothes. Our grandchildren have that cleaning set, which they adore.
ReplyDeleteI remember Mum doing lots of knitting and when we'd outgrown the jumpers and cardigans, she would unwrap the wool and rewind it to re-use for something else!
DeleteI'm hoping Baby A will love it!
I stopped at a church garage sale, town too was packed. As last 1/2 day, they had a bag sale. I stuffed it with babe brand jeans for my daughter and expensive running sweatshirts. I managed to get a pair of pants, long sleeve work out shirt, and a couple tees. Even if just one pair work for her, at $7 for the full bag, what a bargain. I'm sure your daughter will appreciate the items for BabyA.
ReplyDeleteThat's why I love going to garage and rummage sales. Some of the items have barely been worn/used and they are such a bargain! I found myself a lovely pair of jeans one time, I think it was at a Goodwill or Savers, I paid about $5 for them. Loved them so much I thought about buying a new pair until I found out they were almost $100 new!!!
DeleteI hope your leg improves quickly. Making a Wendy house would be fun - your childhood one sounded so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping it will feel better if I take it easy.
DeleteI love how you call it a Wendy house in England. Of course, I love all things in the UK!
ReplyDeleteI still call it that and people look at me strangely lol
DeleteHope your leg feels better, soon. Maybe icing it and some gentle stretches will work?
ReplyDeleteYes, the days are really flying by, aren't they?
Baby A will love having her own house cleaning tools. A cardboard box is a wonderful thing for imaginative play. My daughter and I painted a rather large cardboard box and made it into a house for her to play in - she loved it!
It's starting to feel a bit better. Thank you. It's fun how children don't really care about the cost of a toy when they are little. Some of my fondest memories came from the 'cheap' toys we had or made!
DeleteI once got a full length real leather coat for £2.50. It was many years ago but still a huge bargain. My decluttering has stalled but you've motivated me to start again.
ReplyDeleteWow that is a bargain!
