I am trying to write down a few things I want to get done each day (in addition to the usual). If I don't have things written down my mind tends to wander and I don't get anything done. Before I know it hubby is on his way home and the day is almost done! I know that if I see things written down I keep more on track. It feels good to cross them out as done too. I have got half the week planned for meals, but have to work on the end half. At least it's getting cooler and having the oven on actually feels good!
I still haven't started on Christmas things. Sigh. This really is going to be last minute. Perhaps I should add them to the daily list even if it will feel like a chore then. At least I might actually get something done. What tips do you have to keep you on track or motivated?
Here's a photo from the weekend. We actually got out for a walk. We got up extra early and headed out to one of my favourite state parks - Ludington. It was quite crisp out but it turned into a beautiful day. The weather forecast had said mainly cloudy so we were really lucky!

Beautiful Weekend - Camping
We were so lucky to have a wonderful weekend for our last camping trip. The day was positively hot and even the night was warm enough to be comfortable. We had a lovely couple of days. We got in several walks and got to spend the evening watching the sunset over Lake Michigan - a truly wonderful sight.
We camped at a state park. It was quite busy - there are four sets of sites on the park and most of the spots were full. There were lots of people out there for the day too. We saw quite a few people on our walks on Saturdays. It was a little too busy for me but once the evening came things settled down a little and there weren't too many people around.
Our camp site was fairly quiet. The spot we had reserved had woods behind it and to one side there were woods so we were fairly isolated. The spot was quite large compared to some of them. We had gone in the Spring and picked out a few sites we wouldn't mind staying at. All-in-all it was a really good weekend. A nice end to the camping season.
Can't wait to do more camping next year! For this year our next trip is a long weekend up in the UP of Michigan (hopefully) to see some of the Autumn colours. Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Sunday Walk
It was raining when we started out yesterday, but the park we were going to was over a couple of hours drive away so we headed out anyway. We drove through drizzle then full out rain that ended in a heavy fog. By the time we arrived at Ludington State Park only the fog remained. You could see a little blue sky through the fog so we decided it would probably burn off as the temperature heated up a little. We've been to Ludington State Park a couple of times before but we've only ever done the walk to the Lighthouse. It's one of my favourite lighthouses. HERE are some photos from one of those trips.
This time we went on a walk around the lakes - Lost Lake and Hamlin lake. It was really, really beautiful. This has to be one of my favourite walks so far. The shores of the lakes are just beautiful. The walk through the woods really stunning. It was an easy walk until we reached the Ridge Walk and then it was up, up and up some more! Well worth it though. Here are a few photos.
We're camping there for a night in September after I get back from England though I'm sure we'll make another trip up before then. We did stop by Lake Michigan (as it is in the park too).
The snow/sand drifting fences were still up
But they were starting to get ready for the summer season! I bet it won't be long until the barriers are removed.

Beautiful Sunday Walk
It was a gorgeous day today. February in Michigan and it was warm enough to go without a coat! There were lots of people out in shorts - a little crazy imo - with really white legs lol. I think we are all fed up with winter. It was really great to see the sun shining and the sky really blue.
With the weather as great as it was we decided to take a trip up to Ludington State Park and take a walk to the lighthouse and maybe check out some camping spots.
It's a really lovely walk - 1.8 miles to the lighthouse so a round trip of 3.6 miles. It is a level walk, some sand as the dunes on either side had drifted a little with the winter winds.
A first peek of the lighthouse over the dunes.
And finally a view of the Big Sable Lighthouse in all its glory.
This has to be one of my favourite lighthouses.
Still a little stubborn snow/ice around.
And a few hints of where there was ice.
What a lovely walk! More tomorrow....
