WOYWW February 24th

It's Wednesday again and time to join Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground for What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday, a time when we hop around looking at other desks. It's really fun.

Well, my desk isn't too bad that week. I actually haven't done too much. I'm still stuck on mini-albums but can't find just the 'one' I want to use for Mum's photos. Grrrr. I just realised how close Mother's Day is! I have to get to work creating a lovely card for her and one for my sister whose birthday is on March 17th.

Last week I was complaining about space on the desk. I actually went out and bought a larger one. Guess that solves the problem lol. No worries about anything falling off the end and breaking. Unless it's one of those things that once you get a larger one you end up filling that one too lol.

I did end up and give in and buy some of those crazy birds too.

Couldn't resist lol.

It's been a strange week here in Kalamazoo. On Saturday night the whole community was shocked when a man shot several people - a woman at an apartment building, two people at a car dealer and another five sitting outside a restaurant after a show at the local theatre. Wrong time, wrong place. It just goes to show how quickly things can change. You never think it will happen in your community either. Lives just destroyed in the blink of an eye.

I'm staying in today and will hopefully get some crafting done. We are under a Snow Warning - total of 6-12 inches. They usually aren't right. Luckily lunch/dinner was brought forward from Thursday to yesterday as my friend forgot an appointment she had on Thursday. We had a lovely meal out and lots of gossip. We even got a free dessert. We'd been sitting at out table for a long time and apparently they needed the table to add to some other tables as a large party was coming in. The manager asked if we would mind moving tables and she would get us all free dessert! How could we refuse? LOL. At that point we were only nattering away.

Well, I'm off to travel around to other desks before going to exercise (in the cold, cold basement).

  3. Oh my word, Sharon. As you say - from one moment to another - so much happens - life changes for ever. I trust your community will be able to find some peace amongst the chaos which has happened there.
    Take care. God bless.

  4. No warning for us but snow mid morning, now it is sunny, so glad it did not stay around.
So sorry to hear about that shooting, how frightening to read and how terrible for the poor victims and their families. I wonder what made the guy do such a terrible thing, guess we will never know.
Did you mean you had succumbed to buying the Crazy CATZ if so, you have a partner in me, I fell for them too. Happy stamping!

  6. That was terrible news - the shooting has been all over the TV over here, so very dreadful for everyone, and so mindless, I wonder if we will ever find out what drove him to it.
I hope you don't get too much snow, although it's always a good excuse for staying in and crafting. Hope you have fun with your new cats!

  7. Those Crazy Cats are brilliant, aren't they? Have to admit, I've easily talked myself into the cats and both sets of birds, plus the accessories, AND the dies, lol. I'm just a pushover. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #12 xxx

  8. I'm just in from my afternoon school run and having done the morning school run and a full day of sewing in between I'm feeling rather jaded but as you can imagine those little ones never fail to put a smile on my face so it's all worth it.
Thanks for dropping by at mine earlier.
I'm sorry to say that crafters are rather like goldfish who grow to fit their tank....that new table will soon be as full as the last one :-)

  12. No matter how the table, the pile will expand to fit...it's the crafters law! I hope that you enjoy spreading your stash far and wide :-)
We heard about the shootings on the UK news....I didn't realise you were in Kalamazoo. Terrible, I feel so sorry for those innocent people who had done no wrong.

  16. the cats look like fun, and I am grinning thinking of you buying a larger table. :) ( you know I used to have two 8' tables plus a 6' one across the other end?) ( a few years back) hopefully you do not get that much snow its getting so close to being spring. Thanks for the earlier visit, ~Stacy #56

  20. I give it six months before that desk is too small, Sharon! Lol! Have fun with your new stamps. Thank you for your visit - glad you like my kitty page. I'm having great fun doing it and only the text to do now before it's finished. There seem to be a lot of us out there who hate going to the dentist! I think I'm more of a wimp than most though. I was terrified!!

I'm still doing too much and suffering for it - I made a whole batch of very unsatisfactory samosas today - my hubby was very nice about them but the pastry was horrible - much too hard! I'm determined to do better next time. I shall suffer for overdoing it again...

  21. So sorry that happened in your neck of the woods. I live in a very rural area and we had something similar happen about half an hour away from us a few years ago. Hope you have time to enjoy your new stamps soon. Happy WOYWW (and thanks for your visit.) ~ Laura #60

  22. Another one caught buy those cute cats and birds love to look at them. I'm sure your new desk will give you room to spread out. You just have to figure out if you like things in site or hidden away when it comes to organizing I find. I like things tucked away but easy to get to. :)

  23. I haven't fallen for those crazy birds ... yet! Maybe they will grow on me! But I spy some sticky backed canvas there, which I've also just bought. Quite useful, I think :)
    Thanks for dropping by too,
    Have a good week,

  24. Mm, Sharon so agree - a really sad thing about that killing spree - and even more unhappily it is just one of many over there in USA, but need to tighten gun laws like we did after our Port Arthur massacre... making buying a gun not the right of fourteen year old. Currently in 20 US states they can - (according to the Washington post) when I heard this on our radio news, I couldn't believe it .. was connected to this sad and sorry event.
Well, great new desk love it, brilliant buy!

yes, you will cover it definitely! ... and also beaut new stash.. must confess, have been very guilty of late .. birthdays are a good excise but think t his one might just have been prolonged a bit :D

    Thanks so much for sharing.

  26. Well, I got those Crazy Birds, and haven't made a card with them yet!
I can't make them look as good as Tim! LOL Happy for you that you got a bigger desk. You will enjoy the extra space. What I find is the more space I have, the more I fill it, and need more! Thanks for the peek. #70
