July

Well, another month gone by. It seems to have both dragged and flown by. This whole year just seems to be getting away from me.

As things have not changed travel wise I have booked my flight to England. I will be leaving on July 16th. Hopefully I'll be able to share the steps and how things go. I'm a little nervous about booking tests and quarantine, but I am keeping my eye on the prize - seeing Mum. My sister went to visit her in the care home yesterday and sister said she seemed a little more cheerful. The care home worker who talks to sister told her that Mum has been mingling with the other residents. I hope she has a chance to settle in a bit before any more health issues!

I do have some cards to share that I made with the kit I shared in the last post. It has been hot up in my craft room, but I have been going up for small periods of time. Lighting not the greatest, but I think they turned out rather well. I made the envelopes for the first two as well.

  5. Those cards are gorgeous and the envelopes finish them off beautifully. Not long till you set foot on our beautiful island. When were you last here?

  6. I am so thinking of you and hope things go smoothly. Still like you said when there's a prize at the end you'll go through it all. I haven't been back for three years now and I'm beginning to feel it. Do love the cards.

  7. Sweet cards.

Hope all goes well with the visit. Currently plan to go over in mid-October, but all depends on whether or not the quarantine is still in place. If it is, I will put off my trip for a few more months and hope for the best. Wishing you trouble free travel.

  8. I'm so glad you have your flight booked. I will be following along as you apply for and complete your tests. On facebook today there was an add about the covid testing. They want you to download an app. I'm not sure that would work for me. I'm not really tech savvy.
I'm glad your Mum is joining in with the other residents. I'm a volunteer at a nursing home and know how much fun they can have when they go to Bingo and cards etc...
I like the cards you made, I'm a lover of hedgehogs so that was my favourite. Only 13 more days before you see your Mum. I'm sure you can't wait. Jo in Wisconsin.

  10. Hi Sharon, just a quick note to say I've just learned that you can get a rapid Covid 19 test at Walgreens for travel purposes. You probably know this already but I thought I would pass it along.
