December 2nd

Posting two days in a row! Wow, what am I thinking?

Woke up this morning and the roads weren't too bad. Our hill was a little icy, but I have a four-wheel drive, and I made it up the hill (we live smack bang in the middle of the hill) without much trouble. I bundled up really well and had a pretty good walk with my friend. The trails were a little icy but not too bad. I thought this Blue Heron in the snow made for a lovely photo

We didn't get any extra snow today, but I did go straight home after my walk. I'm a chicken and some of the roads still looked ick to me. Son lives closer to the lakeshore, and he got lots more snow. They are in a lake effect snow band and under a Storm Warning. They could get an extra 5-8 inches of snow! Son decided to work from home. He said that the office was actually telling people not to come in and to work from home. I'm thankful we're not getting any more right now!

It's been a chilly day. Our temp reached about 27F (-3C) today. The heat has definitely been on! I got a bit of housey stuff done and got some packages ready to go out tomorrow. Hopefully we won't get any more snow, and the roads will be good tomorrow. I do not like winter driving.

I have made a list of things I want to get accomplished this week so I'm going to work on some of those tomorrow. I tidied up the bedroom today (on my list) but I just seem to keep moving things around and not actually taking care of anything! I really do need to be more organised. I have to get back on the decluttering bandwagon, so things are leaving the house and crating more space. Isn't it funny how, when you move into a house it seems to have so much room and then you seem to fill it too easily! This space, not huge, should be enough for us. I'm going to make a goal of at least 30 things leaving the house this month.

  1. That is a gorgeous picture of the blue heron in the snow! I didn't know they stayed for the winter!
Sounds like you had a good day. Good luck with the decluttering this month. I'm sure you'll get a lot more than 30 items decluttered.

    1. Thanks! Some of them stay around as long as the water isn't frozen. I'm sort of stuck with the decluttering. It definitely feels as though I'm slowing down!

  2. The heron photograph is beautiful. How nicely he posed for you. I don't envy you the snow. It's pretty to look at and that's all.
