Joining up with Julia over at Stamping Ground for another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday when people all over the world share what's on their crafty desks this week.
I have finished sorting all (that I've found so far) my floss. It's nicely put away in numbered bags and then drawers. My room is actually looking a lot tidier and I feel good to know that if I want something to stitch I know where to find it!
The compartments on my desk used to be behind me but I put the floss drawers there and the pens and distress ink closer to where I can reach it. Makes more sense and I'm not sure why I didn't do it before!
You've caught me stamping out images this week. I did a few pages of them including the crazy birds you see. I'm off to visit my daughter in Minnesota for a couple of weeks so I want to take them with me. She has plenty of colouring pencils so just the images needed!
I did make a card this week but was in a hurry to post it to my sister that I forgot to take a photo of it! I also finished knitting a scarf this week. It is done in a basketweave pattern. I really like it and am quite pleased with it. I think I've mastered the knitting and purling so now I'm on to some other stitches.
The colour is deep red and black - doesn't seem to show up so well in photo. Would help if there was a little sunshine!
I'm off to visit some desks before son pops in to visit.
That scarf looks amazing! Did I tell you that I now use the magic knot that you linked to? I love seeing your stuff x
ReplyDeleteGood looking desk and loving your crazy birds, thanks so much for your visit

Hi sharon, love the colour of the scarf. Great idea with the images, I'm going to be doing that to take into hospital with me. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Sharon. Well done on the sorting - great to have things right where you need them. Lovely fun quirky birds. Enjoy colouring them when visiting your family. Good work on the scarf, too. An all together positive week, with so much completed!

I can offer you a bed and good food if you could come and help me sort myself out? Dx #39
ReplyDeleteThe scarf looks lovely. Was it complicated or not? Not that I would try to knit one myself, I got in a pickle with tiny bear's garter stitch clothes never mind fancy stitches. Well done you on your achievement.
ReplyDeleteI love the crazy birds and made lots of cards for a retreat with them and then did a workshop on them not long afterwards. I haven't done any since!! Now I should work on the crazy dogs which I have.
Hope the weather warms up for you.
Hugs & thanks for visiting me

ReplyDeleteLove your scarf! What a feel good factor there is when we sort some things out and put them in some resemblance of order! Those Tim Holtz crazy birds are on my wish list....! Happy WOYWW! Anne #7
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, my favourite stamps there! You can come round and organise mine any time Lol! Have a great woyww, Angela x 20
ReplyDeleteYour scarf looks great! I never would have thought of stamping my own images for colouring in. I don't have any stamps though, so perhaps that is why. Hope you enjoy your colouring in and all of your other crafty exploits!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your great WOYWW and visiting my blog xx Jan (33)
ReplyDeleteIt's great when you get organised, isn't it. A tremendous sense of satisfaction when things are working properly because they are in the right place! Your scarf is absolutely beautiful - fabulous rich colour and an intriguing stitch too. Thank you for your visit and a nice comment - yes, I managed to do quite a bit last week, considering - and now I'm feeling exhausted and guilty for not doing anything for two or three days running - occupational hazard I suppose, but you'd think I'd be over the silly guilt after 10 years of M.E.!! I am very pleased that I can do art on my iPad and embroidery from the comfort of the recliner when I'm not up to spending time in the studio, and I do enjoy my baking when I have enough energy. I agree - WOYWW is very inspiring and gives us lots of ideas to try things. I hope you do some free embroidery and I'd love to see what you are doing.

Congrats on getting all the floss organized!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to stamp some images to color while you're away.
Well done you on the sorting. Sometimes sorting is just as much fun as crafting. Beautiful scarf. ... Mary-Lou #33
ReplyDeleteThe scarf you have knitted is beautiful. Enjoy your time with DD.

Love the scarf - the pattern looks very complicated! I know the feeling when you post something and then you suddenly remember that you forgot to take a photo of it! Oh, well. Your Distress Inks look very well organized and those pen shelves look like something I might need! Thanks for visiting yesterday! Have a good time in Minnesota! zsuzsa #21
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Sharon! Pretty scarf. In the picture, that black looks purple. hehe Go you on the rearranging and getting your floss in order. I need to bring mine upstairs or I'll never get started on my cross-stitch/ embroidery project. Thanks for reminding me! Creative Blessings! Kelly #42
ReplyDeleteHmmm scrumptious scarf, enjoy your time away and thanks for the visit BJ#27
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, thanks for leaving a comment in my blog, thanks for reminding me about Journal52. Seems like you are having a pretty busy crafty week also, stamping, organizing, knitting and everything :) have fun :)
ReplyDeleteooooh that scarf looks totally gorgeous - love the ombre effect!! Annie C #11
ReplyDeleteYour scarf looks very useful in that icy weather (previous post). But it shows as a pretty deep pink and purple :) No black. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteStunning scarf, Sharon, and would love to send you some of our sunshine so you're able to get the true colours in the shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally impressed you've made it. I learnt to knit when I was eight and my first scarf when nine or maybe started when eight as took me a while to finish it and it was an uneven edge it went in and out a few times 😊.
All the ones since have been crotcheted as much better at crotchet than knitting.
Thanks for sharing your inspiration, and for popping over too.
