Back in Michigan

We are back home from our trip to visit daughter. We had a wonderful time. The weather was just gorgeous. It was a really long drive back but we made it! Phew. Now to sort through all the photos, the goodies I bought and do the washing (but that will be tomorrow). Daughter lives in a beautiful state - Minnesota - and we got to see some of the lovely sights. The only downside was all the ticks! Shudder. There were a lot of them. Nevermind.

I'll be sharing some of my pics over the next few days, but yesterday, before we left, we went for an Adopt-a-husky hike to help raise money for a rescue place. We discovered Shasta likes chasing bubbles!

It's Mother's Day in the US so I hope all those women who are mothers and all those women who help make other lives a little brighter enjoy a relaxing day.

  1. We'll be flying through Minnesota this week, I've never been there before. We're having trouble with ticks down here too.

    1. We discovered that alcohol wipes help get them detached from skin. Shudder.

  2. Ticks would freak me out....I am not a lover of anything smaller than a dormouse or any insects apart from bees.

So glad you had a good time with some decent weather.

Bless Shasta with her bubbles. Smudge has had them since he was a baby and used to fly round catching them....now the poor old boy just sits and watches and barks-x-

  3. Glad you had a good visit with your daughter, Sharon. Sorry about the ticks, though! That sounds quite horrible. They can carry nasty diseases so you have to be careful, and leaving the head embedded in your skin can cause infections too. We used to live in the country and our cats used to get them sometimes, but we never had them on us, thank goodness. I'm another one that freaks out at creepy crawlies!!! Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such nice comments. Glad you like my Infusions pages. Hopefully I'll soon be able to get them bound, but today I had to take a break and get my hubby's birthday card made (up on my blog now). Thank you for your good wishes re my health too - blood test this a.m. in advance of my oncology appt. next week. Always something, isn't there! My poor hubby, always having to drive me to all these appointments!

    Have a great week.
