Took a Blog Break

It wasn't planned, but I ended up taking a blog break. I'm back. Hopefully a bit more cheerful now lol.

We spent the weekend away, a long weekend Friday to Monday, a planned trip to the U.P of Michigan to look at the Autumn colours. It was really beautiful and peaceful. There's one more trip we have planned, end of next week to visit daughter and then we're done for the year. Not complaining, but it's been quite a busy summer with planned trips away.

I can't wait to see Baby A. She is standing up now! She can pull herself up to her feet and when daughter holds her hands she takes wobbly steps. Where has the year gone! It just seems like the blink of an eye that I was planning to spend a few months with them when she was first born. Time really does fly.

It's getting chillier now. I haven't given in and turned the main heat on, but I've put away the fan that was by my favourite chair and I've pulled out the little heater. It's been on the last few mornings as the temperatures dip to near freezing. It takes the chill off the house and the rest of the time I'm now wearing my jumpers.

Have you turned your heat on yet?

Photo today - lovely sunrise this morning.

I'll post more later.

  1. What a beautiful sunrise. Babies grow up so quickly.
We have our heat on . . . I don't like being cold and can't move in layer upon layer . . .

    1. It was really lovely. I don't like being cold, just dreading the bills that come along with the heat. Right now it just seems chilly in the morning and the sun comes through nicely in the afternoon. I doubt it will be long before I have to take the plunge and turn it on!

  2. That sunrise is beautiful!
Sounds like you did some fun things during your blog break. And how nice to have the visit to see your daughter and Baby A to look forward to! I'm looking forward to seeing my daughter at the beginning of next month. :)
It's starting to cool down, over here, but, not enough to switch on the heating. However, I did use the small electric space heater, yesterday, in the evening, as I felt cold! I was wearing a long sleeved knit top and a sweater over that and a scarf, socks, etc., and still feeling cold!

    1. How lovely that your daughter will be coming for a visit! It's hard being far away from them, but makes the visits even lovelier. The mornings are the chilliest here, so that's all I'm using too - for now!

  3. I think my comment disappeared! I just thought your sunrise photograph was gorgeous.
We've definitely got our heating on. I'm not brave and I can't move in lots of layers . . . 😎

  4. It seems no Time since baby was born. We've had some gorgeous weather recently and I'm at a ceilidh right now sitting this dance out as waltzing isn't my thing.
