Card Creations

Just a quick share of some card creations. These are made using decoupage toppers from Craft Consortium. I really enjoy putting them together. I think the cards turned out quite nice. Now that it is hotter I find myself up in my craft room more. I go for my walk in the morning - very early - and it's too hot to even sit outside later so up in the craft room it is. I certainly have enough to keep me busy!

Brrr....

It was cold this morning! 18F/-8C! I bundled up in my long undies, hat, double gloves and hand warmers so I wasn't too bad. The cold did keep people away. There were a few other hardy souls out. The sun was shining so that was good. I didn't see a lot of wildlife, just lots of geese. The beavers have been busy with smaller trees, leaving the larger trees alone for now. Asylum Lake was beginning to freeze in places.

I ran a couple of errands, came home to wrap some presents, finish an ornament and try to keep my sanity! I have a love/hate with this time of year. I like the giving of gifts but I tend to stress myself out. It's my lack of organisation and time management that gets me every time. I'm trying to think of one word that encompasses both so I can work on this next year. I'm getting to a point where it is something that is bothering me so it is time for a change.

A couple of cards I made today. I quite like them. Once I've got the few projects left I am finishing up I think I'm going to make more of these so I have them on hand - another reason I need to be organised. I've been watching December Daily Vlogs on YouTube and so many people seem so organised for the holidays and I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

How organised are you with gifts? Do you have a stash of gifts on hand? Do you plan throughout the year?

Monday, Monday

Ack. Back to Monday again.

I have some crafty card creations to share today. I really do need to get going on Christmas (yikes) projects but I am enjoying Autumn and Halloween right now and seem to be stuck on them.

These were all made using bits I had around. The first three were made with bits I 'won' in an auction when I went to see daughter the other year. I went to Woo-Woo Palooza, a fundraiser for Adopt a Husky Minnesota, and they had a scrapbook basket up for auction.  I think I'm going to send out a couple as a pick-me-up. It's always fun to receive something different in the post.

Fail Again - no posts

I was trying to do better and post at least 3-4 times a week but I look and almost a week has passed! I think I just needed a little break and a little time to reset. Take a deep breath, clear it away and start again. I shall do better.

Things have been...okay. I'm still having cramps but the latest stuff I found - Hylands Leg Cramps PM - seems to help when I wake up in the night with them. I wish I could sleep better. Luckily with the darker mornings if I do end up getting back to sleep the light doesn't wake me. This means later walks too.

The sorting is coming along. There is still a lot of stuff but I like getting through it and knowing that I am downsizing. It's at that point now where I can see a difference. It's just a matter of not bringing more stuff into the house. I find that a little difficult as I tend to buy things - books especially - when I'm feeling down and that seems a lot lately! However I am happy to say that I have been resisting temptation on that end. I haven't even been to the library bookshop. Some of that is due to the fact that it requires mask wearing and when I have a hot flash - phew - that can be overwhelming! I have had fun looking through books as I sort through them and making a pile of ones to read next. That's almost as good as going to the bookshop lol

I have been sorting out my craft room too. All the books that were daughter's are gone from the room (it's only a small one) and that has created more room to sort and reorganise. I've been making sure to create too! However I have failed not buying new craft items. It's Autumn - my favourite season - and there are lots of new papers out! Have I mentioned I'm a decorative paper hoarder too? Lol.

Hope everyone is doing well. I have blogs to catch up on!

Here are a couple of Autumn cards. I have a couple more mini albums but will save those photos so I post again within a couple of days.

Another week

It's gone by in a flash. As usual I had good intentions and that's all that they ended up being. It's been an up and down week weather wise. Snow one day, nice and sunny and fairly pleasant the next. It's that time that really is a rollercoaster of weather. On the good days I've been getting out and enjoying the sunshine. The other day I stood in the park, closed my eyes and just listened to the singing birds. They obviously know it's almost springtime. Their song says it all.

On the Homefront not much is getting done. I am sticking to the daily jobs, but not decluttering is getting done. I did take back some of the library books that I've read and I took a bag of books to the library bookstore for donation.

I did get up into the craft room and try to make a card for my sister's birthday. I ended up making two. I showed them to my Mum (via Skype) and she said she thought my sister would really like the second one. Sister loves to garden.

I've made an envelope for the second one (as I made the base card too) and it will be on its way to sister. Which one do you like best?
