It's Wednesday again - already - so it's time to join Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. I always have a great time visiting different parts of the world and looking at different desks. There are so many projects going on and so much variety!
This week my desk doesn't look a lot different from last week. Instead I decided to (gasp!) show you the slowing growing pile on my floor. It is paper left over from other projects. I have to use it for something soon (this isn't the only box!). It's only part of the floor - I really wasn't quite brave enough to photograph the rest.
Projects this week? I finished a card for my MIL as American Mother's Day is this weekend. I sent one for my Mum in the post. I send her one for both Mother's Days.
I made the envelope with the envelope punch board. Another adventure as I hadn't used it for a long time and I completely forgot how to use it. Thank goodness for Youtube lol. I made another album too but I think I'll save that for another post as I don't want to make this too long.
Last but not least my updated cross stitch picture. I hope everyone isn't tired of seeing it but posting it each week is definitely keeping me on track!
Thanks for all the visits and lovely comments! WOYWW is a GREAT group to be a part of!
I'm sure you Mil will be delighted to receive the card in a box , its lovely . Jill #6
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sharon. Your mom is going to love your box card and so do I. I haven't made one yet but it is on my list to do......when I get to it. I am not brave enough to show the side of my floor where stuff is piled up as I am trying to reorganize my whole space. I do understand after not using a tool for onetime I also head to you tube for a quick refresher.lol I mailed out your prize winning and am so excited for it to get there for you....but snail mail does take its time. Have a fabulous week and happy national scrapbooking day. Hugs~Anne L #8
ReplyDeleteI know all about those bits of paper! I usually chuck them in a box and promptly forget about them. Makes me wonder whether I should just throw them away in the first place? (oops, did I say that out loud?) Love the box card and lucky mum who gets two separate cards each year! The cross stitch is really taking shape now - when you first showed it to us, I didn't really see where it was going! Happy Wednesday! zsuzsa #32
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon! Love your card in a box! I made one once, and it was so difficult for me. I doubt if I make another. Your Mom is going to love it, though. Be careful what you leave on the floor. I do it too, but lost a lot of pre stamped images recently when a file of them was on the floor and I had some water from a hot water heater come into my craft room. Oh, well, it wasn't too important, but was sad to loose all those images. #46
ReplyDeleteHa!ha!ha! So glad to discover that I am not the only one who uses the floor space when my desk space is full! Grin... Some people actually clean up at that point, but NOT ME... Big Giant Smile. I have been actually making a Herculean effort to creat CLEANLY, as I just finished building my dream studio space and it was all so Neat and Organized and I could find stuff. But the key word here is WAS... Grin... But please do pop on over for a visit to have a Peek... Scrapbook Lynne WOYWW #43
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon. Your card is lovely. It will be greatly enjoyed. Your cross stitch is really growing - and no, don't stop posting a picture - it's so good to see your progress! I actually think it is growing quite quickly - 'cos, a much as we would all like to spend every waking moment crafting in one form or another, the reality is our craft time is fairly limited. You are doing great. Incidentally - I love the look of the floor.... reminds me of a certain room in a bungalow here in Wales!
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

I do love those cards in the box - I would love to get your card for mothers day but my daughters do Moonpig cards to me - crafting gene not passed on there. By the way that just looks like the floor of someone who is busy being creative x Jackie 18
ReplyDeleteyou are making good progress on the stitching :) ( I am surprised about the paper though) if I did that I am sure my dog would want to roll on all of it. ( so it gets piled on top of a cart that holds a basket filled with embossing folders haha) STacy #48
ReplyDeleteI'm mightily impressed with your cross stitch. I'm not good at precision work.
ReplyDeleteI'm knocking myself sick with all the stuff on the floors, bed and in cupboards. I really need a culling session
Thanks for stopping by

Ooh, that exploding card is such fun, I love it!! Your mum will too, lucky her having you send two cards a year. Sorry but I laughed out loud at your floor, that is magnificently messy, good for you for having so much crafty fun 😃💖

Lucky Mum getting two cards and well apart in timing. How wonderful to have such a considerate daughter as you. She must be so chuffed.
ReplyDeleteEven more so if she has one of your cross stitches. Nope, never get tired of seeing how you are progressing with this one - it is marvellous.
Hugs, Neet 3 xx
Lovely exploding box card, bet your mum loved that. Like you I wasn't sure about the tea cup dies but bought them and then found the sentiment stamps. Naturally I will show you what I do with them. Cross stitch piece continues to look brilliant. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 24
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your floor! If I didn't have my bucket mine would look like yours and my bucket is on the floor! Very pretty box card and your cross stitch is really coming along! Thanks for the visit and happy WOYWW!

What a fabulous card! I love your floor - made me smile! Chrisx 34
ReplyDeleteI love to see your progress each week on your girl. The box card is very pretty. If you get a puppy that likes to eat paper, then you're forced to keep the paper off the floor, unfortunately, it means it gets piled in other areas. Happy Wednsday, LisaDV #36
ReplyDeleteI love the pop-up card that you made for your Mum. I've been wanting to make one for a while, but haven't gotten around to making one. I noticed your cinch in the first photograph, and I'm a little jealous - LOL! I have one on my Amazon wish list. However, I haven't ordered one due to the cost and the fact that I'm not sure if I'll get enough use out of it to make it worth the investment. Anyway, thanks for your visit and blessings!
ReplyDeleteOh, what a sweet cross stitch. I for one love that you are posting it every week because I have been absent from WOYWW for awhile. The pop-up card is going to be a huge hit!!! I won't photograph parts of my room either! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Have a great rest of the week! Angie #47
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, wonderful color palette too! She will love it! and the cross stitch is absolutely magical and lovely!

Wow, that's one of those clever box cards! Something on my "to do" list! Have a good week :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous (and clever) card you made for your MIL - I'm sure she'll love it. And your cross stitch is looking great, you're doing well getting so much done each week, it takes me years to do projects like that! Thanks for the earlier visit, hope you have a great week and get to use some of that paper!!!
ReplyDeleteDiana #20
Your cross-stitch is coming along, and I personally always like to see photos of works-in-process. And sweet card, how nice that you celebrate both Mom's days. Susanne #29
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and I know I have many moments when there's more stash on the floor than on my desk.
ReplyDeleteLovely card - what would we do with out You-tube for little helpful videos?? x Jo
ReplyDeleteYour Mother's Day card is wonderful! I love what you made! :)
ReplyDeleteYour mil will love that!
ReplyDeleteHorrah I have finally made it to the PC again after posting my desk rather hurriedly on Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLove your 3D box and I won't mention the floor or lack of it.
Thanks For visiting BJ #33#
Hi Sharon, hehehehe I think I recognise that pile of paper, or at least its close relative is living in my craft room! I think both Mums will love that gorgeous box card, very pretty :o) Annie C #26
ReplyDeleteLovely busy creative space, Sharon, and your cross stitch projet is certainly progressing! Well done! Thank you for such a lovely comment - so encouraging! We had a wonderful tea party and we each so value the friendship that developed out of our shared experience with bowel cancer and major surgery, but there's more to it than that because we just get on so well together and laugh at the same things! We never run out of things to talk about either!! We all look back on last year as a really positive experience and wouldn't change a thing. I stupidly forgot to take a photo of the table groaning with all the baking until it was too late, but this afternoon I plated up the leftovers to photograph them and I will be blogging in due course - I made some fun cakes lol!
ReplyDeleteSorry to be so long picking up your comment but as you know last week was incredibly busy, and I've been so tired since tht I have had to rest a lot, and am only now catching up with everything.
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #50
Hi SharonK. What a lovely Mother's Day pop up. Love the purple. Thanks for stopping by my desk last week. I'm just getting round but should be better tomorrow. Creative Blessings! Kelly #40
