Yes, it's Wednesday again (already!) and it's time for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. We're still being hosted by Jan while Julia is recovering. I know we're all wishing her a speedy recovery.
My desk this week has pictures of the ATCs I received for my swap. Beautiful.
At the top from left to right from Annie, Jo (Twiglet), Lisca, Kim Y and bottom from Zsuzsa (Inky Dinkydoodle - love that name!). I can't thank everyone enough. I hope mine are enjoyed as much as I like these. I might have to see if I can find some of those mini-easels when I visit Mum next month (it sounds GREAT to be able to say that even though it's at the end of next month lol). It will be just another thing to bring back in my suitcase.
I owe Jo (Twiglet) an apology. I forgot to send hers when I sent Annie's. It is in the post now. I wondered why I had an extra one left. I knew I shouldn't have had any left!
There were great envelopes with these too! I was so very careful opening them.
I have been up to some crafting - I wrote a post on Tuesday for that. I started my Mum's explosion box card from scratch. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions or posted a link to help.
Lastly, my cross stitch. It isn't finished, but it is ALMOST done. The backstitch is taking a while to get done (read - I'm doing it wrong and having to unpick and re-do). It will be done by next week's post even if I have to sit up all night doing it!
The piece when finished will be 25cm x 35cm.
The finish line is in sight! I did write a post featuring other pieces I've stitched here - Stitching It's been a while since I've stitched anything this large!
Hello Sharon they are such beautiful ATC you have received and the envelopes are just stunning. Well I am hoping your redo and fix with your cross stitch goes fast. It is such a fantastic picture you are doing and what a great job on it. Have a wonderful week. Hugs ~Anne L#3
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon. Your ATCs are pretty cool. On the stitching. That is why I don't do too much like that, the undoing! I do a lot of taking out stitches I did wrong! LOL Thanks for the peek. #6

ReplyDeleteGreat collection of ATCs - glad mine got there OK, too! Your stitching looks wonderful - it took you a while to get to this stage but it was worth it! I'm not sure I would have the patience - I always want instant gratification. That's something for me to work on! Have a lovely week! zsuzsa #32
ReplyDeleteHI Sharon, if you are coming back to the UK to visit your Mom, a retail chain called The Works- they do a lot of books, mainly, and some craft stuff- were selling those mini easels with a mini canvas on them. There have been so many great ATC's haven't there? Do like your cross stitch, you will be happy to finish it, I think. I may have told you this story, if so I apologise, I blame my meds for my lousy memory lately, lol. Nothing to do with age! Seeing the size you posted, reminded me of a Christmas present I bought my DIL to be a couple of yeras ago. I still think in feet & inches, and have sort of got used to thinking I'm probably the only person who does. So when I bought her a cross stitch kit with those dimensions, I just assumed it was centimetres. Wrong! it was almost 2 foot by 3 foot! She finished it back last month, rofl! She keeps telling me she had wanted a big project for some time, that she could pick up and put down when she wanted, I'm sure she's just being diplomatic, lol. Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #9 xxx
ReplyDeleteAll your ATCs look great. It's hard to see what's not finished in your cross stitch. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.

ReplyDeleteWow! Your cross stitch is a work of art. It looks finished, but if you say it isn't, it isn't. Well done!
Have fun working on your explosion box.
Happy WOYWW,

Just going to go and get my ruler to convert centimetres into inches so I can imagine your beautiful piece of work more. Love it and thank you for showing us how it has grown, it has been most enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got such lovely atc's.

I am so impressed with your stitching. It would be right about now that I would stop. I have an issue with finishing things. LOL
ReplyDeleteApril #34
Love all of those ATC's and the envelopes are just as wonderful! Your stitching is lovely! I stitched many moons ago, but I think my patience threshold would not tolerate it anymore! LOLOL I will just have to look at your creativity instead! :) Blessings, Felicia #50
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, thanks for the visit. I love your cross stitched piece..I laughed about why its taking you so long. I am crocheting a blanket, its taking twice as long as it should for exactly the same reason, drop a stitch, unpick, redo...Cx #19
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection of atc's ..so lovely! I love and admire your cross stitch...wow, so gorgeous and enchanting! very very beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteHappy woyww, thanks for visiting me too!

that is so cool that the envelopes were a second piece of art with all the great cards you received :) Thanks for the earlier visit, ~Stacy #51
ReplyDeleteThe embroidery is looking fab - I was quite surprised at how large it is - that makes for one heck of a lot of stitching! You're doing a fab job with it, and I love the envelopes that came with your ATC's - I wouldn't have thought to decorate the envelope too!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely week, and many thanks for stopping by my desk earlier,
Diana #24
Dear Sharon,
ReplyDeleteWell done on all your desky loveliness... WOW! What great atcs, but then the desky lot are very clever, aren’t they? They've all so much nice detail, really great you are to see mum soon!!
... and yes love the details on your minute stitched cross stitch .. unpicking no fun.. look forward to seeing it finish.. do you frame them?

ReplyDeleteLovely collection of ATCs! And such pretty envelopes too!
ReplyDeleteYes, buying stamps and matching dies can be expensive. But I've only bought the one lot ... so far :)
Oh, isn't it just TOO FUN going to the post box these days! I am loving the entire experience from decorated envelopes, all lumpy and fat with THINGS to the personal messaged being penned... I hope to do this all again soon! I really like your last image... did you draw that bit of feminine loveliness? Thaks for popping by to visit the other day! and Happy WOYWW Scrapbook Lynne #45
ReplyDeleteWow! That cross stitch is coming together nicely. Great ATCs, thank you for sharing them. Thank you too, for the visit earlier. You are right that the next step on the card I made a month too early is to get it posted by the right time. The pressure is on! PJ #47
ReplyDeleteLovely ATCs, and your cross stitch is coming on great! I did a bit more on mine last night but I think I've used the wrong colour and it's got to come out again... I hate undoing...
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment, and for your good wishes. I had a second attempt on the bus yesterday (on my own) and using the wheelchair instead of the buggy was much better - an absolute doddle! The world is my oyster now!
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #52
I love the ATCs you received... I myself had a big grin on my face every time the mailman brought another fun envelope... we woyww-girls are so generous and creative isn't it? Enjoy your cards and yes... do find/buy a small easel - I am very happy to have one and never regretted that I bought one (and they cost almost nothing... )Thanks for your visit to my blog earlier this week. Instead of creating, I sat on my balcony reading and enjoying the good weather last week. That's why I am late with visiting woyww-friends.. but today it's raining and it's a perfect morning to visit blogs so here I am, wishing you a beautiful Sunday! Hug from Holland, Marit #30
ReplyDeleteWow that needle work piece is coming out awesome! (not that I had any question, mind you ;-) ) Thanks for visiting my blog. The arm is improving in spite of the torture I put it through this past weekend. Creative Blessings! Kelly #37
