A big mess - that's what I have to show for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday as I join in with Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground.
Christmas is rearing it's head on my desk this week. It has suddenly come upon me that Christmas will soon be here so I pulled out all the stamps and papers and have been working on cards and gift boxes. I am purposefully not showing you the floor where most of the said stamps and papers are. I groan just seeing it. I couldn't bring myself to take a picture!
These are the two mini boxes I've made up. They will be filled with sweets (good ol' Cadbury for my American friends - they cost a fortune over here but yum!) and tied with curly ribbon and gift tags with names on. I have a few more to make.
These are my first two attempts at shaker cards. There is another on my desk - a window view. It's not quite finished and I'm trying to decide between two sentiments.
Another Christmas card. This one has an embossed image. I'm not sure whether to do something to the image to make it stand out more. Picture was taken last night so forgive the shadow.
Well, that's it for now. I feel a little more in control of cards as I have a few made now and some more in the works. I'm going to start gathering 'kid' pictures so I can start on Mum's calendar. The pages are completely blank - I have to fill in dates and months and decorate each page by hand. I've been doing it for years. It's not as easy now the 'kids' are all in their twenties, but Mum really enjoys it so I've got to dig up photos I've taken all year.
I'm off to look around other desks. Thanks for all the visits and comments!
Love the shaker cards, Happy WOYWW, Vicky#25

ReplyDeleteLoving the Christmas cards and your messy desk, makes me feel quite at home Lol! Have a great woyww and happy crafty week, Angela x 14
ReplyDeleteYour shaker cards look fantastic! I know the agony that comes from spilling the mess onto the floor. I sometimes just gather all the stuff in a big box, stash it somewhere and promptly forget about it. Not a good long-term strategy! Thanks for visiting earlier! Hope you have a good week! zsuzsa #28
ReplyDeleteGreat cards and the chocolate boxes will look very festive with their ribbons.

Adorable cards! I wonder if you couldn't bring out the embossing on the one by using a distressing tool with a light hand and rubbing ink on the top? My mom, Okienurse, is the one who does that stuff... I rarely emboss. ❤️ Have a great week! ~Heather~ #47
ReplyDeleteWow, you have been busy with your Christmas cards, haven't you, Sharon! Great stuff, and they are really fun. Thank you for your lovely visit to my blog - glad you like the cats! My hubby loved that card. I had intended to make it for him for Valentine's last year but I was ill, so I did it for him a year late! I so agree with you about the chocolate. Choccie vies for first place along with cake in Shoshi's life!!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #42

ReplyDeleteTell me though...is it true? Xmas calories don't count? Why I've been lied to for years...LOL!
