Yikes it's November. That 'C' word is creeping ever closer. It's Wednesday again and time to join with Julia and the WOYWW gang over at Stamping Ground. November started with a warm day. Temperatures here in Southwest Michigan reached around 24C (approx 75F). Our average temperature is about 12C (54F). My windows were actually open again for a little while today, making the most of the unusually warm weather and knowing it will not last.
This is my desk when I took the picture late Tuesday night. I finally got tired of the mess on Tuesday so I cleaned it up a little. I don't like being squished into a really small space to craft. I was beginning to feel claustrophobic. I think that wasn't helping with me messing up all the time.
You can see some images I've started colouring. There is another mini-album on the back already assembled and most of the photos finished. I tried to find my embellishments. I know I had plenty but can I find them? The answer would be NO. I can't find them. Anywhere. The good news is I found a bag of scissors I 'lost' just after Christmas last year! I broke down at the weekend and bought four pairs. Perhaps that was why I found them. I hope it doesn't take me as long to find the tub of embellishments! I was planning on using them for Mum's calendar too. Grrr.
The box on the desk holds a variety of stamped images I need to take care of. I love these boxes. I can get them at Michael's for a couple of dollars each.
Lastly, I finally framed a couple of hedgehog pictures my sister got me and put them up on my wall. I'm looking forward to travelling around the world and seeing what crafty goodness everyone is up to!
How typical - you find your scissors just as you buy new ones! I've got load of things gone missing! Sometimes it's just easier and quicker to get new ones than go looking for them. Cute hedgehogs and I love boxes of all shapes and sizes! Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #31
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, I find too that you always find a missing item either after you've bought a replacement, or have given up, and are looking for something else completely different. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #22 xxx
ReplyDeleteSounds familiar - finding the scissors after buying more. Doesn't that happen so often? I lost some tablets this morning, ordered more and then found them - same story!
ReplyDeleteI just love your hedgie pictures - irresistible.
Love the desk with all your coloured pencils and images.
Hugs and thanks for visiting me, Neet 5 xx
Isn't that always the way - lose it - replace it - find it! I think I've done that hundreds of times. The last one was when I lost the letter "e' from a stamp set of letters, searched high and low, emptied the trash 3 times, finally bought another set to get the "e", and found the "e" the next day. At least now I have 2 sets of each of those letters, actually makes things easier! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #41
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, Lovely Hedgehogs. I am in to Hares, although I have mainly Greyhound pictures on my walls.
ReplyDeleteHope you find the embellishments and get your mums calendar done.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

What lovely hedgehog piccies - they are such cute little animals. And as for the embellishements, don't worry about finding them, they'll turn up as soon as you've purchased new ones!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by earlier, I hope you have a great week,

I can relate ;-) workspace is never enough! Love your art ♥ Thanks for stopping by my space :-)

I think we can all relate to finding items after finally purchasing new - lol. The hedgehogs are adorable. I hope you find your embellishments soon. Have a Wonderful Wednesday and terrific week. LisaDV #37
ReplyDeleteI think that is fairly "normal" for scissors to hide. ( I am still hunting for my flames embossing folder and have not caved on buying a second yet so, of course I have not found it) I am rolling my eyes, Happy Wednesday! ~Stacy #51
ReplyDeleteDo you find that you spend ages looking for stuff and when you finally give up you then find them in a place you thought you'd already looked? this happens to me all the time. I think there is a little elf thing that hides them so he can have a good laugh at me hunting everywhere for the thing! Thanks for the visit to mine and happy crafty woyww, Angela x 19
ReplyDeleteLove the hedgehogs!
ReplyDeleteCute hedgehogs! I spend life looking for things (and finding things I had forgotten I had) and I get a bit stressed too if everything gets too messy - but I am not a naturally tidy person so I'm often in internal conflict. I find the '10 minute tidy up' the best way to keep in control and try to have at least one a day. Thanks for the visit earlier, Happy WOYWW Cindy xx
ReplyDeleteYour desk is looking good! I've seen those boxes at Michaels and never thought to purchase any. They are a great size to hold things. Hmmm...shopping? LOL. Dorlene #46
ReplyDeleteI ended up with 2 metal-edged cutting rulers because I did that, Sharon! It's the same if you get rid of things you have had for ages, too - as soon as they've gone, you want them again. Thanks for your visit and your enquiry about my health - yes, loads better, thank you! I had a really good appointment with the stoma nurse yesterday and she's pleased with me, which is nice. No time for art again this week, but I've been working on some more digital mandalas in between my other activities. Too much else going on at the moment!

LOL I spend most of my time hunting items! I had wanted to color and watch tv last week and couldn't find my clipboard anywhere! That is pretty big; how could I not find that? Well, last night when I was cleaning, there it was standing up in plain sight right next to one of my plastic drawer sets. How did I not see it? Anyway, like I said I spend most of my time hunting things. Thanks for the peek, and for stopping by earlier. #39
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that misplaces art tools. Those hedgehog photos that you framed are precious. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute pictures and those little things will turn up just when you replace them. Thanks for your visit earlier. Have a lovely week.

Hi Sharon, isn't it frustrating when you lose something and no matter how hard you look you can't find it, but when you buy a replacement you put it away safely alongside the missing ones. Go and buy a few cheap embellishments and you are sure the find the ones you have mislaid.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my page and actually we are almost certainly not moving until after Christmas now, and if I can be certain of that then I will be much happier.

Love the hedgehog pictures, did you frame them yourself? I did a framing evening class many moons ago but haven't made one for yonks now. Thanks for visiting BJ#48
ReplyDeleteIt is a rule of the universe that you only find something after you have bought its replacement. Those hedgehogs look awesome! x
ReplyDeleteI don't like working in a confined space either so I understand your frustration - especially finding the bits and pieces after you got the replacements...sigh.... I do hope that you enjoy making your Christmas stuff though. I haven't bought a single Christmassy thing yet!!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 9 xxx
Love the hedgehog pics.
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon. Yes I do know how that goes the missing items and the over all hunt for them. I love the box of images you have started and I also have a lot of these boxes from Michaels holding a over welding amount of goodies. Looking at your albums at the back of your desks reminds me I must get on mine and finish that last little bit so I might get them out of finish it pile. I love the picture of the hedgehog they are super adorable critters. Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting me earlier. Hugs ~Anne L#1
ReplyDeleteWho said that C word was creeping closer? It seems to be galloping towards me at the rate of knots!!! Eek!
ReplyDeleteI've worked out that it must be the Holtz & Stewart law of dynamics. You lose something crafty you need, only to find it just after replacing it. Also known to suppliers as the Ker-Ching Effect..... heheheh (that's funny, I might have to blog that!!! Ha!)
Thanks for stopping by my desk this week.

Better late than never! I don't know where time goes these days. Oh I just love little hedgehogs - pictures are always so cute even though I know they are prickly and often flea ridden - I love knowing that they are in our garden and helping keep the slugs at bay! x Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon,
ReplyDelete...oh dear can so relate to you with these missing items I pray you've found your embellies in time to make the pressie for your darling mum. Love your crafty space, it's summery temps here in Oz, bit early and some summer like storms too.
Running bit late here....
Thanks for popping over and for sharing,
