Wow, it's almost another week done. I think this one has gone quite quickly! As I said in my last post, I had good intentions at the beginning of the week - including blogging each day - but they didn't quite come to realisation. Isn't that the way?
We had a couple of sunny days at the beginning of the week and then I'm not quite sure what happened! Yesterday there was even some snow - big, fat snowflakes that (I must admit) made me a little grumpy. I have managed a walk each day, but they haven't been that pleasant, wet and muddy mainly. Sigh. I keep looking for anything growing but no signs yet. The lake where I walk is still mostly frozen over. I think the poor geese are getting more than a little impatient as there isn't a lot of open water for them to swim in or land on.
I am pleased to report that I have picked up both the knitting and stitching this week as well as getting in my craft room and doing a little bit of this and that. I have also managed to get rid of over 40 books in the last couple of weeks! I'm really proud of that one although there are many more to go. That number there just gives you a hint at the amount of books in the house. Sigh. I do have another bag ready to go to the library bookshop for donation when I next go down and some more to list. I watched a couple of the latest Hoarders episodes and I have to say a) I'm so grateful my house doesn't look like that and b) watching the episodes makes me want to clean/declutter more!
Those extreme hoarding programmes make me shudder. I'm not a tidy person and my bedroom is often a bit of a tip but nothging like that! Like you, it motivates me to get sorted.
ReplyDeleteMore snow? Oh, no.
xx
I'm not the tidiest person either, but not like that lol
DeleteWell, you are one week closer to spring and warmer weather, whenever it arrives! You accomplished a lot! Walks, knitting, sewing, and all that decluttering! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Spring! I keep hoping to see flowers - nothing yet!
DeleteWow, the snow seems never ending. Thankfully signs of Spring are all around us and I do feel blessed it makes you feel so much better. I shudder when I see some of these extreme hoarding programmes, but do like a little clutter. I am not keen on a show home look.
ReplyDeleteI definitely don't have a show home lol! I like something homely but not stuffed like those!
DeleteI find the extreme hoarding programmes very difficult to watch. My late partner was a hoarder but not to that extreme - at least with him, everything was clean and had a place, but there was just too much of it!
ReplyDeleteI think there are different types. Some people just seem to have a lot of things, others collect rubbish and can't seem to get rid of it.
DeleteI took 3 huge boxes of clothes to church to share with other ladies, 1 huge box of misc. is waiting to go to the thrift shop. As a real hoarder, who at times has a room or building that looks like those on the show - for real - I have cleaned out 100's of houses in 30 years of my business and refilled mine a half dozen times....I am going to....I am going to...(I have to preach it to myself)...clean and organize this year and keep them clean! (wink, wink).
ReplyDeleteYeah! Good for you! Ah, but you have an actual business. The people I have trouble understanding are the ones who seem to hoard rubbish. Goodness knows, I have trouble letting go of certain things, but not the rubbish!
