What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday - July 13th

It's another Wednesday rolling around and time to join Julia and the gang for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. We are still with Jan who is gracious enough to host while Julia is recuperating. It is really good to see her posting again. Jan is HERE and Julia is HERE.

I am starting to panic. Time has crept up on me and I'm running out! Can someone add a couple of extra crafty hours to each day?

I have been working on my Mum's card. I'm stuck. Not sure what I'm going to put in the middle. I've made a cake, a teacup and now wondering pot of flowers. I know I want balloons. I'm made those already. I've got the pictures ready to go. Still thinking of words. It will be finished. Soon. Well, probably next Thursday - day before I fly out!

Cake in progress - is finished now. I had to play around with the dimensions. Grrrr....

Balloons in progress - these are finished and put 'together'

This is my desk - a mess of papers, test cakes and, well, a mess.

I have, however, finished my cross stitch. I have to mount it and decide if I want to frame before leaving (it will be 11" x 14") or get a frame when I arrive.

Thank you so much for all the encouragement as I worked on this. I really appreciated it!

  3. The cross stitch is super and if it were me and I had room I would frame it before I went. You might be too busy when you get there having hugs and kisses.
Good luck with the card, cannot imagine how you are doing it so am looking forward to seeing it in all its glory.

  7. Beautiful Cross Stitch Sharon, you must have so much patience. I cannot promise that the new stash will not end up on the floor for a while as I really need to find a better way of organising my stamps. Have a lovely woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 23

  9. I'm sure the card will come together perfectly - you seem to have a lot of the elements already - just leave it until the very last minute and then it will happen miraculously - well that's what I do and it usually works for me - I'm better working under pressure!
I love the embroidery - it's really beautiful - I bet it will look stunning framed. Thanks for stopping by my desk earlier, I hope you have a great week,

  14. That's a very cute cross stitch - it's come out really well and deserves to be framed, I think. Isn't it frustrating when you know what you want to achieve with your card but it just doesn't happen? I usually walk away from it when that happens to me, it always seems to fall into place on my return. Bet you can't wait to see you Mum :-)

  17. love the cross stitch! All the comforts of home…love bunny to snuggle, tea, and a comfortable chair. The desk looks very busy and I have the same problem from time to time…I let it sit a bit and it eventually works itself out! Thanks for stopping by my desk and leaving a comment. Vickie #46

  20. I know about that panicky feeling - that's why I seldom do anything for "special occasions" - that feeling of obligation often kills my creativity. Sad, but true. Some people are the opposite and they thrive on the last minute pressure. Sounds like you're well on the way to finishing soon! Great work on the cross stitch! It looks wonderful! Thanks for popping in earlier! zsuzsa #30
