Mid-week - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

It's time to join with Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. It's that time of the week when we get to have a peek at what's on other workdesks. People are up to all sorts of interesting things.

It's been really chilly here in the mornings. Brrrr. It was really nice on Sunday and we went for one of our Sunday walks - I am certainly enjoying doing this since I no longer work Sundays.

Anyway onto my desk.

This is how I left it on Tuesday.  You'll be amazed to see that I have actually pulled out some holiday stamps and papers in hopes on starting some cards. Nothing seemed to go the way I wanted it to though - I kept messing up stamping my images, got ink on the paper from my hands, ran out of cleaner and generally got really frustrated until I decided I needed a break! Out of range (on the floor) are the Christmas stamps I sorted out ready to stamp with.

I did get the photos into my gargoyle album. I haven't added embellishments yet, still pondering what I actually want to put on them - have to find the 'right' thing. Here are a few pages:-

I think I've taken up all my time today but I have started knitting - think I'm getting the hang of it. I'm going to post more about it tomorrow. Today I'm going to visit lots of places around the world and see what other people are up to!

Thanks for all the comments and help last week with ideas for decorations. I appreciated them!

  1. Darn, sometimes things just don't work out, do they? It's best to leave them and return later with a fresh mind. Loving your gargoyle photos - I must say it's a strange thing to collect photos of, but I can totally see the attraction! Something grungy might suit them for embellishment. I like the fold-out pages in your album. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #24

  2. Hi Sharon, first off, I LOVE the gargoyle album! Awesome! I had to smile about the ink from your hands getting on your cards- happens to me all the time. I always somehow manage to touch the inkpad, if I'm using small stamps and going stamp to inkpad. I try to remember to go pad to stamp, as that helps. Have a great week, hugs, Shaz #1 xxx

  4. Hi Sharon, grrr I hate when that happens and you can't make something come out how you want it to, I think we all get that sometimes, I know I do! The gargoyle pics are amazing though - I have a friend who would be drooling over those :o) Annie C #15

  6. Your gargoyle album is great! I don't think it needs much in the way of embellishments, but I can't think what. Leave it alone for a while, I would suggest.
    Have a good week.

  7. Love your gargoyle album. Would love to see it in real close up, possibly a video???? I love gargoyles and was fascinated when in Germany looking at them in a big square that we were in, took lots of photos but none as good as yours.

  11. Love your flip flop gargoyle book. Just a lovely way to highlight your photos. I will admit that I tried knitting way back in my younger years. My DD was 3 months new when I finished her little pink sweater....The stitches were so tight I was able to sit her up for a photo...like a tightly tied bunting. LOL no more knitting for me LOL. Keep smiling and creating. Thanks for popping by! fairyrocks#44

  12. Sharon, that is very interesting how the pages of photos flip out of your book :) ah, I have never gotten bitten by the knitting bug, but I can crochet. so, it will be fun to see what you do with that. ~Stacy #48

  18. Oh the frustration of having the time and desire to create and then everything goes wrong... Been THERE! Taking a break was your very best solution, I think. I am LOVING Your gargoyle album and wish I could see even more... YOu absolutely have to share the "back story"... Why do you have this and where you have you been to collect so many amazing gargoyle photos?? Inquisitive minds want to know! Grin... Thakns for popping in yesterday and Happy belated WOYWW! from Lynne in Canada #51

  20. Good morning Sharon. I am loving the album you made and those pictures are trully beautiful. Can not wait to see it all decorated up. I am at a loss with my card making also and yup great plan I just tossed them to the side and that's where they are staying. Oh how fun knitting can not wait to see what you are making. Thanks for visiting me earlier and have a wonderful week. Hugs ~Anne L#9

  21. Wonderful album! I want to do a wedding album...I have a small book to do it in...we had a small wedding 47 1/2 years ago and no professional pictures, just snapshots, so it will be easy. I also have to finish two other albums I started. But so much has taken precedence! Will get to them eventually! :-)

  22. Oh, I know that feeling of nothing working when you're ready to. Sorry it was such a struggle with the stamping. The gargoyles make me smile. I've got a thing for them too. Your flip book is awesome. Wonderful work.

  24. Fab album - I'm sure you'll find something appropriate to just finish it all off. Maybe some brads painted to look like stone?

  27. You make me think I should start crocheting again. ( I can't knit)
Nice desk, Sharon. I have things layed out for some Christmas, but haven't done any crafting today. Still warm here. I am ready for it to cool down a little, not ready for Winter mind you, but tired of 80s. 86! Thanks for the peek. Other Sharon #50
