Not so crafty...What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Wednesday again and joining up with Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

The answer to that question? On my desk there is a pile of...stuff. It got dumped there before our mini trip last week and there it has stayed. I'm hanging my head in shame. While others are crafting away I've ground to a halt again. I have done some work on my gargoyle album but not ready to share yet. I'm not quite sure how to embellish it. Any ideas? There doesn't seem to be a lot of gargoyle or Gothic style embellishments

Anyway here is that terrible picture.

It will be cleaned up next week and there will be crafting going on.

We had a lovely time on our trip up north. I really didn't want to come home. It is so beautiful and peaceful up there. I think if we were twenty years younger we'd up sticks and move up there. So much natural beauty and things seem to run at a slower pace. Not sure I'd like the snow too much - pretty sure it gets even snowier up there. We have lots of things we want to see next year. I did share a few pictures the last few days and there will be more to come The Falls and Mackinaw City.

I will be crafting today and popping over to visit other WOYWWers. It's been fairly warm here the last couple days - I've actually had the windows open!

  1. A bit messy, yes, but nothing to worry about! My dining table usually looks like this 5 minutes before dinner is ready and I just pile everything up and chuck it on the floor. Voila - job done! Hope your mojo comes back soon! I know what it feels like when you hit a road block. Enjoy your week! zsuzsa #22

  2. So easy to dump things on your desk after a trip or two and there is so much of other things to get done before the crafting area gets tidied. Am sure you will get around to it before too long and then we can look forward to some more of your crafty goodness.

  3. It looks a lot better than the stack of stuff that I'm half way through that keeps getting moved from dumping spot to dumping spot! It looks like the desk of someone creative. I look forward to seeing the gargoyle album! Lyssa Mx

  4. Hi Sharon. The desk will get tidied when you are ready - don't fret... Glad you had such a great break. A change of scenery is so good sometimes, isn't it?!

  5. desk looks nice and busy! I go through Mojo loss from time to time and have found that kits work for me to get the juice back on track. I don't sweat it though and enjoy just being in the room of stash and playing like the guy who used to go into his room and count his gold! Have a great week. Vickie #11

  6. Don't you dare hang your head Lol! I love a messy desk, it's just that sometimes it can be difficult to craft but you'll sort it I'm sure. Thanks for the visit to mine, have good crafty week and great woyww, Angela x 17

  7. Hi Sharon! I can't wait to actually have a craft room and a desk as messy as yours! It's a sign of creativity and things in motion, even if you've been gone.

    Have a great crafty week!

  9. Well, I don't know for sure but, what if you used like foil tape and some texture like an embossing folder and made your own things for the album? ( like texture strips?)

  12. Thanks for visiting. I've been enjoying my come back..I peeped about and enjoyed your beautiful travel photos. I love that area. We went to the island 11 years ago, but I'd love to go in the fall for the color of the leaves. We spent time in Minnesota this year and the colors were gorgeous. I've a cousin in Ann Arbor I'd like to visit sometime. Then of course our drive near Lacrosse Wis. and around the Mississippi is another adventure. Hopefully your MoJo will be back, The month of Sept was a hard one here, no time for creating but things are on the upside. Have a great week Sharon

  15. Thanks for the visit. My desk looked like yours before I did a major cleaning a day before I took my picture of it! And it frequently looks like that. I just made a bunch of card kits for upcoming events and, oh my gosh! Done and cleaned again and ready for the next project. Happy WOYWW!

  17. You shouldn't be ashamed of your desk - it looks great. Some down time always seems to help the creative process. Just not too much down time. ;-) April #39

  18. My desk always, always looks worse than that :) It's annoying but can be sorted out, which I need to do, right now, before I can do anything new. Don't stress about it :) and have a good week anyway. Gargoyle album sounds interesting.

  23. Compared with the mess that was in my studio a while back, Sharon, that's nothing to get worried about! You'll soon have that lot tidied away and be able to get stuck in again! So glad you had a good trip away, and it always takes time to come back to earth again, doesn't it.

Thank you for your lovely comment - so glad you like my efforts on the iPad. It is such fun playing with it.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  24. I think your desk looks creative! Just been thinking about your gargoyle/gothic embellishments - what about parchment or vellum with gold embossed letters and script, as in old manuscripts. Also what about little stained glass windows using acetate with glass paint and a black cut out frame, I suppose it depends how intricate you want to go and making them might be time consuming. Sorry I can't think of much else. Good luck with it, hope it all falls into place for you.
    Have a great week,

  25. No hanging your head for a messy desk! We love them even more if they're messy. It's when they're nice and tidy that you have to hang your head. lol. Do you have a silhouette and DE software. You could create gothic clip art into die cuts. or print and cut gothic images from the web for embellishments. I'm sure whatever you decide to do will be fabulous!! Happy WOYWW week! LisaDV #35

  27. Your desk scene looks all too familiar. I've got through phases where most of the surfaces in my house looked like that. Good luck in sifting through it and getting back to work. I'm glad your trip was fun!

  29. Happy Belated WOYWW. I hope you get some time and motivation this week to get your desk cleared and crafting started. My craft room is either tidy, or I have piles surrounding me. I struggle to get creative when surrounded by mess, so soon tackle the piles! Ali x #27

  30. Some weeks are just like that! I dunno about you, but it usually take me about a week to recover from my vacations. Sorry I'm so late! Have a great week! Heather (waywardgypsy) #51?

  31. We all go through the crafting doldrums, so don't worry, we all totally get it. Don't feel you have to conjure something up to show, we all turn up weekly anyway so no worries! Your trip sounded amazing, I'm so glad you had a good time :-D

  32. I know how it feels (and how the desk looks) when you're in a mood like that... never mind dear, we all come across that in our lives and it will turn out to be alright - give it some time and be gentle to yourself. Have a lovely Sunday, love from Holland, Marit #24

  34. Oh, don't worry about your desk! This is why WOYWW was invented! A warts n' all look behind the scenes...

Gothic embellishments. Anything Victorian, fleur de lys, metal gates type style, chain, spikes, skulls, ornate crosses....?

Thanks for stopping by this week.
