Temperatures dropped dramatically on Sunday. Today we had snow most of the day. I had a walk but got rained on, iced on and snowed on lol. I ended up a wet mess.
We had a nice day out yesterday. It was pretty cloudy, windy and chilly. We visited several spots along the lakeshore and I took (probably) my last ice photos of the season. It was particularly interesting to watch as the ice was being pushed to shore by the lake and the waves were such that the ice was splashing up over onto the snow piles. One beach we went to large slabs of ice had been pushed ashore.
Today while out for my wet snowy walk I checked the places where the first flowers grow and was delighted to see the beginnings of some snowdrops and daffodils! I couldn't believe it! The snow and ice has only just melted and already there is new growth coming. Mother Nature is amazing!
I did manage to get some of the sorting done that I wanted to get done. I have a few boxes ready to go to the charity shop. I sorted out a box of books and have more to go! The living room is looking a little neater and shall be continued tomorrow. I want to get up in the craft room again and sort there but I think I should probably concentrate on the main living area first so I feel a little more relaxed in my house.

The snow on the trees was quite pretty.
It's turned a bit colder here too but nothing like your weather. No snow, just a little frost, and the sun is shining.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day. xx
Thanks! It's a little up and down here right now, but it does feel good to know that spring is on its way
DeleteAmazing to see the slabs of ice in one photo and plants pushing up from the earth in another! Soon you'll have the color you have been longing for! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished with the sorting. I agree - focus on the living room before you do the craft room. :)
ReplyDeleteI love seeing them. The ground has only just cleared of the ice! We couldn't believe it when we saw them
DeleteSpring must be on the way for you - hooray!
ReplyDeleteI hope so! It seems as though it's been a long winter.
DeleteIt's really hopeful to see those first buds. Sending hugs x
ReplyDeleteIt does mean there are new beginnings coming!
DeleteI love your photo of the new growth peeping through the leaves. Mother Nature really is amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see considering just a week ago it was covered in snow and ice!
DeleteBefore you know it you will be taking photos of all the spring flowers. It's almost here isn't it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait! It did make me more than a little excited lol
