Not a bad couple of days. I've been doing my usual walk, housework and even managed to get a couple of problem areas sorted.

The dining room table is one such problem area. It seems to be a dumping ground for everything and, as we really use it, it doesn't seem to get a lot of attention. The mess has been starting to bother me so on Monday I cleaned it off, wiped it down and polished it. I did the same with the little table thingy next to my chair. It's nice to have both those areas sorted.

I have a stack of shredding that I'd like to get sorted this week too. It seems to sit around and gather dust. I need to pull out the shredder and get the paperwork sorted. Most of it is bank statements. Only one is ours. I think I need to go online and change over to paperless. I thought I had changed it, but for some reason this account still sends the statements. Both sons also get theirs sent here. Not sure why as neither one of them looks at them. They do everything online. I think I need to see if they will change to paperless too.

One more thing on my list this week is to sort out my summer and winter clothes. It is time to put away most summer things and get out the winter things. It's also a good time to have a sort out and see if there is anything to donate or throw away. I don't think I need to buy anything this winter - good thing with money being tight. Luckily, I have lots of things that can be used as layers and, to be honest, I tend to find myself wearing the same things over and over again.

Tomorrow I am taking a nice walk by myself before starting on the two aforementioned jobs. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Day 276

Not the frost I'm waiting for, but there were hints of it in the field on Monday!

Day 277

A chilly morning with mist coming off the lake.

  1. Well done clearing off the dining table and the smaller side table! I have a hard time keeping horizontal surfaces clear! I admire your motivation to go walking when it is cold! :)

    1. I think it's habit to walk now. I must admit that I feel a little guilty if I don't go! I shouldn't. Once winter comes I am hoping to give myself a break at least once a day. Maybe that will give me more opportunity to get things done around the house!

  2. It is amazing how some areas seem to act as a magnet for all sorts of bits and pieces but it gives me a buzz when I clear them up. I like the picture of the mist on the field.

    1. I like it when things are cleared. It sounds silly but it makes my mind a little calmer when things are less cluttered.

  3. The mist on the lake is magical!

The problem with some areas is that they attract clutter. I call them blockages and I'm trying to target them. Good luck!

    1. It's really beautiful at this time of year. I hate how the table seems to collect everything! Everyone in the house is guilty of leaving things there too so it isn't just one of us.

  4. Shredding is probably my least favourite task and I always let it pile up before I tackle it. Paperless is definitely the way to go to help the situation. Good luck getting everything shredded and out of the way.

    1. Mine too. I hate doing it. I find it a little mindless and annoying. Probably why I put it off! When we were sorting Jane's there was so much paperwork that MIL ended up taking it to a shredding company. I stuffed mine in there too, but since then it's piled up again!
