I Really, Really....

...want to buy something! Aarrggghh! It sounds stupid but I'm really struggling not to buy anything today. There are a couple of quite cheap books I'd like and some crafty stuff (that I don't really need) but it's just proving to be a tough day. I really just need to take a deep breath and not press that buy button!

I think, after hubby goes to bed, I might just pull out a tub and sort through it. I'm sure to discover some goodies I'd forgotten I had. I ordered something right before New Year that I'd forgotten I ordered! I got an email today telling me my order had shipped. I know I thought about ordering things from the British Shop but I didn't realise I'd actually pressed the button! In my defence it was New Year's Eve, I'd just gotten off the phone with Mum and I was homesick.

Today was a pretty blah day. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to. It was a bad back day. Sigh.

  1. Do the 'bad back' days and the 'yearnings" days coincide a lot?

    1. I usually want to shop when I'm feeling down. I know it's a habit and I just have to get out of it. I don't usually spend a lot but I'm trying to really hold off as I don't need any more 'stuff'. I am trying to rid myself of things not buy more!

  2. I think it's tough this time of year. I must say I have bought a few things on line but will have to curb that as have had several big car bills, 4 new tires doesn't help. Do you go back to the UK every year? It's always all or nothing. Shame you can't see family for the day and come home, but that's the way it is.

    1. I'm trying to cut back too that's why I'm trying to resist! I do manage to go back each year - for about 6/7 weeks. I would love to be able to go more often but unfortunately not. Usually it's around holidays that it gets really bad. How often do you get to go back?

  3. I don't buy much craft stuff these days but boy am I fighting the urge to put an order in to Lakeland for kitchen and baking stuff....not big things but if I bought everything I wanted I'd be in trouble.
Hope your back gets better soon.
    Hugs-x-

    1. That's exactly it. Thanks. It feels a little better today but I haven't been out of bed long so we shall see!

  4. I didn't know there was a website called the British shop.
Weather here in Suffolk is grey and depressing plus windy and very cold - which is all rather nasty so coming back wouldn't cheer you up at the moment!

    1. There are quite a few online British shops here in the US. They sell mainly food. I ordered some cuppa soup (they don't have it here), some angel delight (who knew that would be something missed!)and some chocolate!

  5. Buying stuff seems to be an addictive and associative thing, doesn't it. It can be really strong and I'm impressed with your strength, especially on a bad back day. Is it easing off now?

    1. Sort of. Not so bad this morning. I think it's just a matter of resisting and it will get easier.
