Monday

No happy, cheerful post today. Feeling a little down. State on lockdown. Husband has one week left of work and then at least two weeks out. Not sure what the bright side is. Seems like we take one step forward and at least five back. I know the reason it's happening. I understand it. Doesn't make things any easier.

We went out early yesterday for a walk. We did drive a while to get there. I'm not sure if that will still be able to happen. We were pretty isolated up there in the sand dunes. It was a lovely walk.

  1. This community of bloggers is a help to me. We are living in many countries and going through the crisis together, in many ways. I've been in lock down at my house for two long weeks, here in California we are allowed to take walks, which is enjoyable.

    1. Thanks for the comment! I'm glad we're able to take walks too - as long as people remain sensible.

  2. I'm finding it very comforting to connect with blogging friends all round the world. I understand that last night's new 'rules' mean that we can undertake one kind of outdoors exercise each day as well as going to do necessary shopping so I guess I will combine the two at times. Most of my exercising can be done inside or in the garden.
Those dunes look lovely. I'm glad you were able to get there.

    1. I suppose it's some comfort that we're all in this together lol. I can handle the restrictions (as long as I can get out and walk) but it's the job thing and the financial implications that has me more worried. I know we'll recover but it's just so frustrating. I was also worried about medical insurance and such (as if you don't work you don't have it).

  3. Sharon, I hope your husband will be able to continue working after the two weeks is over. At least three of my friends are out of work due to their work places closing as a result of the virus. I'm glad you were able to go for your walk. Public parks and beaches here are closing because people didn't observe the proper social distancing rules during the weekend. :(

    1. So far people here are not gathering at the beaches - luckily it's still too cold or I could see that being a problem! Outside trails are busier though but we try to look for somewhere not a lot of people go as that is our general preference.

  4. So sorry to hear about your husband's work and hope it picks up quickly after the two weeks.

I fall into the vulnerable category so for the foreseeable future, outdoors will be my back garden. I hope you can continue your walking.
