I've been dog sitting all weekend while daughter and her husband have been away for the weekend. It takes energy managing these two dogs lol. One, Sasha, so cute, wouldn't come inside! She ended up sitting outside in the snow for a couple of hours. She is a husky and her coat is made for the cold, but still. She just did not want to come inside. I think she was missing them both. She woke me up at 4.30am this morning wanting to go outside. Uck. Daughter and her husband are back now so I shall have a good night's sleep - hopefully lol. The dogs stay with them downstairs while I am upstairs and my door shall be shut tonight.
I did drive myself to the local wildlife refuge for a walk on one of the trails. The wildlife drive is closed until the snow disappears and the dirt road dries out a bit, but there are trailheads nearby that you can walk on. The roads are clear, so I drove myself to one of them. The trails were obviously snow packed. I think there must be a least a foot or two of snow in some places! Yesterday it was above freezing, and the snow melted a little. I had to really watch where I was putting my feet as one wrong move and I'd be crunching down a snow hole!
Tomorrow, daughter and husband are going back to work. Daughter works from home so she shall be here in her office. I'm going to take her car and check out another of the trails. There will be some good places to walk when we come and visit in May and hopefully the snow is all gone!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
The snowy landscape looks lovely in the sunshine! Enjoy your visit with your daughter. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful but cold. Thanks. I am enjoying myself
DeleteThat snow really does look pretty but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we've seen the last of it.
ReplyDeleteI keep hoping. But I think here in Minnesota it will be a while!
DeleteLovely photos of the snow and that bright blue sky. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks. I have slept in a lot this week. I think I'm finally all caught up on sleep. I think our bed and husband's snoring is some of the reason for my sleepless nights at home.
DeleteEnjoy, the pictures are so nice
ReplyDeleteThanks! Hoping it would be a little warmer lol
DeleteReminds me of Canada when I lived there, deep snow but bright blue skies and sunshine. Great for you to spend time with your daughter and great for them to have the opportunity of a weekend away without worrying about the dogs. Enjoy your peaceful night tonight lol.
ReplyDeleteI told my son-in-law that I could deal with the cold with the sun as lovely and plentiful as it is. Where we live in Michigan we get a lot of cloud cover in the winter due to being so close to the lake. I certainly thinks sunshine makes winter a little easier to deal with!
