Messy Desk - hanging head in shame

It's Wednesday again so it's time to join with Julia and the gang over at Stamping Ground for another What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. Things are busy here and I'm trying to spend as much time with daughter before she leaves at the beginning of the year for a new state and new job - big changes ahead! It was her birthday on Monday too so we fit in a celebration for that too.

Now on to the nitty gritty. I'm really hanging my head in shame. I was really tempted to move some things around but I didn't. I took the picture as-is late on Tuesday night.

I had cleaned up all the Christmas stamps and bits, but they were in regular boxes. I saw these Christmas ones at Michael's for $1.66 each so I bought enough to put Christmas things in so I would know exactly what was in them! I was in the midst of sorting when I had to leave to meet daughter.

In the background you can see some stickers from a dog set. I'm not sure what I was thinking but with only six days left before the big day I decided to make daughter a mini-album filled with pictures of the dog and all that we've been up to this year. It will be done!

Hope everyone has a Happy Christmas. It's Winter Solstice today so the days are only going to start getting longer - how's that for some happy news?

  1. Ah, your desk's a little more like mine!!! Messy but creative

    Seasons Greetings and Happy WOYWW

  2. Ive just finished my mince pies and decorating the Christmas cake so thought I'd catch up on a few blogs.
I just want to say thank you for another year of fun and friendship and to wish you a very happy Christmas and here's hoping 2017 comes with good health so we can all enjoy lots of crafty fun together.

  3. Hi Sharon, great boxes, and a fab way to remember whats in them!Sending wishes for a Happy & peaceful Christmas from the two of us, Hugs, Sha z#7 xx

  4. I always like today because it's the turning of the year and every day will be getting a little longer - hooray!! That's a great idea getting those Christmas boxes to store the festive bits and pieces - you'll know where everything is in the future :-D
Happy Christmas to you and yours, I hope it's a good one. Thank you for the support and friendship this year, it has meant such a lot....
    Hugs, LLJ 15 xxxx

  5. Your desk shows that you've been busy creating more of your lovely cards and albums! Good deal on the Christmas storage boxes and now you'll have the Christmas stuff all nicely organized for next year. :)

  6. Hi Sharon. Thanks for visiting already. There's no shame in a "messy" desk -and anyway - I don't see messy, I see creativity on the go!!! Just LOVE those boxes.
Take care. Have a very special Christmas. God bless.

  7. I like the quote - after a battle you expect to see a few bodies. It shows you have been busy doing awesome stuff. x

  8. Hi Sharon. Never feel bad about a busy desk, I get more worried when they are tidy Lol! and that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Have fun and Merry Christmas, Angela xXx 14

  9. Nice boxes, Sharon! Getting organised always takes time, esp. when there's so much going on, like at this time of year. We're really busy with meals out etc. at the moment. Thank you for your lovely comments and I'm glad you like my pages. They are hard to photograph to get the colours accurate. The blueish colour you refer to is actually parchment paper on top of a monochrome photo, and then traced and coloured with metallics. I loved our walk in those special woods so much that I had to make the album to commemorate it! I was hoping to finish it by now but too much else has been going on.

Have a lovely Christmas and happy WOYWW,
    Shoshi #18

  10. Clever organisational idea Sharon, even if you are made stream, it and your doggie book will get made, they can wait a little too. Thanks for popping over too.
Blessings upon you as we remember Jesus' birthday and a healthy 2017.
    Happy WOYWW!!

  13. It's so brave of you to start such a big project so close to Christmas - I'm sure it can be done, just make it very mini LOL! Best Christmas wishes to you and your family! Thanks for visiting earlier! zsuzsa #20

  14. Hi Sharon,

Your daughter will be thrilled when she receives your beautiful album, such a thoughtful keepsake.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a creative, peaceful 2017.

  15. Hello Sharon ... thanks for popping by my blog this week - such a crazy, busy time and it was appreciated. Just catching my breath and wandering around blogland and I have to say what a brilliant idea of your Christmas boxes for your Christmas stamps! All mine are in a boring, white plastic box labelled "Christmas Stamps" - not nearly such a good idea as yours. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, love Debbie xXx

  16. That is such a smart idea to use themed boxes to store the goodies in Sharon. :) I hope you have a very merry Christmas & thanks for the earlier visit, ~Stacy #31

  17. What delightful boxes. I love the various ones at Michaels but they would fill my suitcase up too quickly so I never get any. Sad face!
Wishing you all the best for the Christmas Season and wishing you a Very Happy and New Year.
`Hugs, Neet (thanks for visiting me the other day)

  18. Hey Sharon! No need to hang your head in shame. First of all I would like to say thank you for stopping on over last week! I should be full of shame because I had no time whatsoever to stop by anyones desk at all last week.
Would like to wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season. ♥ Full of joy and peacefulness.... and maybe a little spare time to tidy up a bit. I need some tidying time too!

  19. I call that a happy mess ... lots of creativity going on there as you get ready for Christmas.

    Wishing you a lovely day...

  20. Hello Sharon. Looks like you have alot going on but I dont see a mess when your creating it is a bomb of fun stuff flowing. Last time I crafted with a friend we couldnt find the floor or much table space in an hour. I am sure all will get done and do hope you post the album you made for your daughter . Have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season. Hugs Always -Anne L#5
