Getting Things Done

Well, that's the plan and I've been (sort of) sticking to it!

I have been packaging up Ebay auctions, listing a few things and trying to sort out Christmas items and the house. I'm not doing too badly, but sometimes it seems as though I take one step forward and two steps backward!

I have managed to mail off three things I've been procrastinating on - a book for paperbackswap, a gift exchange for my partner in the Ipswich Facebook group I'm in and calendars and cards for my sisters.

I was absolutely horrified by the cost of sending out the packages. Even for ground post on the one I sent my partner it cost over $14. The package weighed just over one pound. I wanted to send homemade calendars and cards to my sisters. I ended up putting them in one envelope and posting to my middle sister. Even then the cost was over $27!! Yikes. There was no cheaper option. Still, everything is in the post now.

I've been going for walks but haven't really been feeling it. Everything is so dull and grey right now. It's been cloudy for days. I will walk tomorrow but the forecast for Friday is rainy and snowy mix so I'm planning on not going that day and getting some errands done.  Oh, on that thought, I did get a few Christmas-y things the other day. I made a list, managed to take it with me and come away with the items! I call that a good shopping trip. I'm going to try the same thing on Friday.

Day 340

When I was in the shops I was looking for wine. I came across this label! Wow! Shock! I think it's a typing error. I'm pretty sure they usually have wine this expensive locked up. The shelf did not actually have the wine on it but I looked it up when I got home.

This is the wine. Online the price ranges from 9.99 to 11.99. Definitely an error lol. Made me smile!

Day 341

My own glass of wine tonight. Hoping it will help me sleep. I spent another night on the sofa last night. Sigh.

  1. Yes, mailing packages is expensive! The postage costs more than the present inside, in some cases! Now that's an expensive bottle of wine! LOL.

    1. That's so true - I handmade the cards and calendar. I definitely don't regret sending them but ouch1

  2. Postage is terrible, isn't it? It makes Amazon Prime better value although I am sure it will catch up.
I wonder who would pay $999 for that? What a laugh! xx

    1. So true. That's how I used to send Mum gifts as it was less expensive.

  3. I bet they didn't sell too much of that wine. (wink, wink)

  4. Me thinks hubby may have a sleep apnea issue with all that snoring. It may be difficult to convince him he needs to see a sleep clinic, but other more serious issues from insufficient oxygen throughout the night can arise. C-Pap machines are a lot diffierent than they used to be, not nearly as cumbersome and uncomfortable.

    1. He was tested before but it was inconclusive and cost us $500. We just couldn't afford to have the test redone.

  5. The postage costs over here a getting to the point where I will have to seriously consider whether I will send any cards next year.

The price of that wine is enough to give you nightmares! I wonder how long it will take them to realise their mistake?

    1. It is getting so expensive, though it is nice to receive a card in the post. The wine bottle price made me laugh. I can't believe anyone would ever pay that much for one.
